did you know Amazon women actually used to cut their breasts off? Better mobility, being a warrior tribe after all. They didnt want some floopy things in the way in the heat of battle.

| actually, they only cut off the *left* breast, because it interfered with their archery and spearfighting. |

I think which breast they cut off would depend on which hand they fought with in battle. Wouldn't neccesarily ALWAYS be left I would assume.

| in that time/area the majority of them were lefthanded...it was just one of those things that was expected. i never heard anything about there being a few that cut off the right one, because spearfighting and archery were taught lefthanded...but it may well have happened. not being there, and having only historians to tell me what went down, i couldn't say. =) |

cutting off a breast is something I would not want to do... I think I would leave the tribe before that happened... ugh... maybe not... I don't know, I'm neither female, or an amazon warrior... so hey, who knows what would happen?
