Too symettrical for me. The thing in the center kind of comes out of nowhere... I'm assuming it's some kinda curved glass dome or soemthign so add a bit more shadow and highlights to defined the space. But, I really like the glass and the spokes showing underneath. Really cool.

i think that if you told us your intentions with this pic, then it would be easier to critique it.
I don't know what to think of it, because i don't know if its supposed to be a painting, a button for a webpage, or just somehting cool to look at...

Thx for the thoughts. It's just something cool to look at. Doing all the work in Photoshop 5.5 alone and from scratch using no other graphics for overlays and such. With the sticks you might get the idea it is a compass as before with only 6 sticks it looked like you were going to sea with the wheel of a boat. Just was playing around and still working on the pic. It's gone through a lot since the last posting and I will be getting a updated pic in a day or so.

This is another one that is hard to crit.

The composition seems a little boring. The one object in the center of the screen seems to just sit there.

This is very abstract but doesnt seem visually interesting enough.
