Hi
Im trying to make an animation in flash 5 that is in sync with a song, but when i start achieving this, I preview it in IE or flash and its all out of sync...
Also how can I run my animation without the song plazing from start to finish each time__
Its driving me nuts!
thanks
AJ

Try setting the music to event instead of stream (if it isn't on streaming already). Then put up a loading frame at the begining of your movie so everything loads up and is ready to go all at the same time. |

AJ music in flash is very hard to achieve succesfully. You have to understand that you may set a frame rate to be something like 12 frames/sec but it typicaly moves 8 frames a sec at that setting . So the main thing to do is to tweak your animation keyframes so that they sinc with the music ..do some moving here and there..also it is funny because if you sinc them right and then look at the .swf on another slower or faster computer it wont be in sinc either. Sound is very frusterating in flash and to tell you the truth I think you just have to get it as close as possible.
There are people out there that achieve almost perfect sinc...joe cartoon and a few others but it is because they have so low file sizes per keyframe it can keep a perfect setted frame rate....I guess the closest answer to your question would be try to key your file sizes small...also when you color somehting try not to use gradient that slow it wayyyyyy down.

i haven't used flash 5, but in flash4 when you set a sound's event to "stream" it "sticks" to the frames , so that you always get a perfect video/audio sync, regardless of the computer/connection speed. however, under this setting, some frames of animation may be skipped on slower machines. |
