Hey guys. Ive been visiting this site for a week or 2 now. Love the work that you all post here.
Ive recently started gaining interest in Character Sketching. I have NO previous experience at all in this field. Infact right now i cant even draw a straight line..much less a circle 
Anyways what do you guys recommend as a good source to start learning ? Books ? online sites ? etc
I have sufficient photoshop skills .. but no sketching skills. Examples of my work are at the layout for www.red2.org and www.falloutx.com

Hey Maniac, those are good website designs. If you are looking to expand your skills with character sketching, the best advice I can give to you is to practice, write down some ideas or use existing characters for practice. Usually Barnes and Nobles, or any large scale book store (amazon.com) can also give you some good books as a reference. But practice and patience is the best route.

Cool! Fallout is one of my favorite games. Great page lay-out too.
I think maybe you could start by buying one of those art book of still-life, and then try to copy the picture with a pencil. Then you move on to real still-life, and then you can move on to scenary and figure sketching. Slowly moving up and practice along the way will build you a solid knowledge which you'll certainly appreciate when you move up to higher levels.

Just to add a little emphasis for this, even though it's probably in the FAQ. Betty Edwards Drawing on the Right side of the brain is *the best* book for beginners in drawing. go BUY IT .. Now AHORA Pronto!!
