I just finished painting the lineart that Feng did for the concept design of Kenji, the main character in the game Battle Realms. Here it is:
You can find the full preview of the game, with more concept art by Feng,there:http://www.zdnet.com/gamespot/stories/previews/0,10869,2665575,00.html

This turned out really nice. I wish i could've given you a better line-drawing. Hey, wanna get together and work on a cover pitch? I'm in the mood to draw babes again. =) Maybe a geisha or something....I can draw it during x-mas break. Think Liquid is cool w/ that?

Nice job on the colors man. I like the red backlight you've got there as well as the dragon screened in the back. Didn't think it possible but you made a Vortx pic look even cooler =)

Thanks Flinthawk
Feng: I don't know. I'm not sure. I'll email you about that.
Your lineart wa actually pretty clean and easy to work with. maybe you think now that you could have put more details in it or something, but it was pretty cool like that. Simple and effective. I didn't have too much time to do it and I' m slow. It took between 5 and 6 hours to do that. That's a very long time

Wow, incredible drawing and coloring. However I can't keep my eyes off the hat, something about the texture seems, hmm.. flat? Maybe it's just me.

A team up between two of my favourite forum artists. Oh yeah.
Incredible colouring job J.M. I would really like to see Feng's original artwork though . . . to get the whole before and after feeling.
I don't really mind the hat. I'm really fond of the texture, but it could be more 'radial'.

Huh super cool coloring man! Love your work Vortx and black_fish! If you to are gonna team up I definitely want to see the results!
But I agree with Bradford that the hat looks a bit flat.
Anyways keep up the great work both of you!

hey great job the both of you, thats a nice piece. Looking slick. This musta been the one you were talking about then Blackfish
I was wondering was this all paintbrush or you use the smudge tool aswell?
About the hat.. I think it might be the thick black outline at the front of the hat which is making it look flat, cause thats where the light is it hitting it the most, and since the out line at the back of the hat where its meant to be more shadowier is thinner than it, its taking away from it. Maybe try thinnen out the one at the front and thicken the one at the back.

Thanks for all the praise guys even if I think Feng deserves the bigger part of it.
I quite agree on the hat, looks kind of flat. It's quite difficult to render light on something that's supposed to be half of a sphere made of wicker (or something like that). I could have done better. I hate tight deadlines for that: you don't have the time to reflect on what you've done. Anyway...
Cos: I used a little smudge, usually when I have painted a whole area. I'm trying very hard to not use it at all but it's sometimes difficult with the tablet to have the soft gradients you want (I'm too heavy handed I guess). Smudge, as airbrush, is definitely something I use to solve minor problems or to enhance details, never to actually paint or render something.
You wanted to see the original from Feng, here it is:
