maybe it's a stipid question maybe not, but what hardware are good for painting (read using PS, Painter)?
i just thinking 'bout upgrading my system but have no clean idea what parts of hardware gives speed bosting or increasing perfomance. Yeah, all parts are important but let's say music card dosen't help alot or GeForce DDR is cool for 3D games but for 2D painting... and so on. Any ideas? What kind of computers you're using?
thanks in advance

More ram and faster processor
The more the better, it all depends on how much your willing to pay.
Go to Faq's, you'll find something in there. |

when talking about ram - always be sure to get 130-2-2-2 modules (best with ECC) - they kick ass and boost your CPU!
I still believe that there is some kind of voodoo-spell on my mushkin-modules (get em at mushkin.com)!! they run at 150 MhZ Busrate and according to benchmarks have my CPU (T-Bird) go about 18% faster than 133-3-3-3 Noname-Modules.
Also when talking about CPU's be sure to get ATHLON =
hope that helps... |

hehe.. I know exactly what you're talkin bout nox, my mushkin ram puts out the same awesome performance... I love the stuff.
I can't wait till dual t-bird mobo's supporting ddr ram are available. Slap a couple 1.2ghz processors in and a gb of ddr.. whoooweee.. that'll kick painter and ps in the ass. |

No no you fools, Russia - no moneys!
Leo, buy T-Bird 700 and a big heatsink... BAM! 1GHz. And some good PC133 ram. As for 3d card, can buy GeForceMX with best value for money
comes out - CHEAP! (especially now that you buy $50 cpu and get 1GHz out of it = sweet) thats what i did anyways :D

oh oh wait, buy T-Bird not Duron.. about 10% faster in Paintshop due to its 256k L2 at full speed whooooop. And it's cheaper now with new AMD price cuts.
Whats your current setup BTW? |
