hey, love the pic.
about the 500mb ram u needed just to open the thing... cut down on the layers man... i use around the same rez u'r using here, sometime much bigger, and once u finalize something, try merging some layers together. i have the same amount of ram as u, and i try to keep the layers down to about maybe 3-5. just a suggestion i guess. i just felt sorry for u when u said u needed 500mb to just open it, hehe. btw, what do u use the 80 layers for? do u do each part of the composition on a different layer? just curious. can't wait to see the final image. keep up the good work |

Kardis: Photoshop 6
Dakkan: heh, yea, everything is on its own layer. I make so many changes over time its just easer to delete the layer than carefully erase it. When doing the final I usually finalize one layer then delete the rough version, finalize one layer delete the rough... and so on. After a little clean up I can reduce it to about 20-30 layers.
It may not be the most efficient method but I like layers

After many moons I complete another Rough Draft.
A few things to note, in the final the word Sorina redfeather will wrap around the banner, and yes that is the screenshot of the layer palette on the bottom, WAY too many layers I know. Naturally, a few things may/will change as things go on.
You think I try too hard on my roughs?
Image size: 3712x2676
Layer count: I lost count a long time ago (about 80)
It consumes 500Mbs of ram just to open (thank God I have 512)

Pretty awesome. I think you should change the text on the flag to bend with the fabric or just move the text out. Anyway, Really like how you did your sky. One hting that bothers me though, is the girls left shoulder (my left). It looks a bit flat, perhaps perspective is wrong? But anyway, I reall ylike your "rough" |

If your referring to the one behind the horse it's probably just a lack of shading.
As for the text, it'll change. |
