Hi , I'm new here , and I have a question , anybody know how to make those "energy balls" or "light balls" (you see them on for example X-men) But then not cartoonish looking

you have to study the mystic arts or psionics for that.
try "create light" first, its easier to learn for the apprentice and uses up less mana points.

[but if you meant in photoshop then give the smudge tool a try..]

you must create shadow before you can create light. and vice versa.

But first I'l finish the character , and then I'll try to color it , and at the light thingy energy burst look-alike whatever ..
