Great work. Really like the one with the sword coming at the screen. Anyway, I've noticed that there are a few things that are a bit peculiar. First of all.. your faces don't seem to be porportional. well....not as much the face itself. but the positions of the eyes mouth nose etc on the pictures. Sometimes the mouth is up to high, the eyes are up too high, and sometimes you get it right etc. So, I would suggest that you study the face a bit more.
I'll give you a general run down on the usual guidlines. there should be enough space between the eyes for another eye. And half an eye on each side. 5 eyes across the face is. Also, the eyes are approximately 1/2 way down the face (starting from the very top of the head, not the hair line) Then. from there on, half of the distance from the eyes to the chin is where the nostrils should be. Also, roughly 1/3 of the distance from the nostrils to chin is where the upper lip is. Of course, you can tweak these settings around to express things.. and also stereotype people. For example, it is common for chinese to have smaller squinty eyes, etc. (hey, im chiense myself. hehe, not an insult here)
Also, one thing that I can recommend is to try to vary your style a bit. I've noticed that in every single one of your pictures, there are alwas crinkles and folds in the same place at the bottom of the shoes. Keep in mind that not everyone wears baggy pants.
BUT, i guess that's ok for not because all of the charachters are in the same pose. try to go for a bit more DYNAMIC action. I do notice that you try some different angles on some of the pictures.but you only show the head. try incorporating a bit of action, for example running or jumping into your pictures. It really enhances the charachters attitude.
And last but not least, think your shoulders for the gal are a bit wide. Oh well..that's all I have to say for now
Keep the great work up! (btw, that fold thing in the pants.. yah it happens to everyone... but just don't over do it .. you can still do it but give some people short pants and ripped pants etc.) |
