I figured this one deserved it's own thread. I spent some time on this one, knowing that some people would want to see more than just her head, so here it is.

This scene and the elfwood scene take place in the same world, this scene shortly before the elfwood.

thanks

I don't think the realism of the head fits in with the suit she's weaering...so better redefine the suit. But I like hte picture anyway.... very nice look to it. Perhaps add some blackening or battering of the suit and also flames in the background as well as smoke.. as well as a plane may suggest that she crashed

her undersuit is in need of some more refinement; espescially the hands - they strange to me.
I like the armor and helmet, but EvilToYlet is right...
I like the pic anyways

awesome pic, might put it as my wallpaper sometime. It looks great. I think the head goes well with the suit, looks futuristic. Could be sharper, and leave the back blury as is, but i like it... nice job.... 'save target'....blah blah blah...

As the others were trying to say, the head is lighted realistically and the body is lighted entirely differently. Looks like a different direction and a different intensity and color for the light source. Also the head's strokes are very refined, and the body's are simply the basic blocking in and scribles. The hands especially are hardly defined at all, and not sharp.

cool pic skeezer.

my only crits are that the body and the head look like 2 different styles. The armor looks more cartoonish/comic-ish and the head looks like a true portrait. It makes the head look a little pasted on. I like the armor quite a bit. It reminds me of 'Battlelords' armor (this old RPG I used to play a while back.)

i'll have to agree about the suit and the face being different. there seems to be bright sunlight coming from the uper left corner that is affecting the face more than the armor. i think if you used more of that harsh lighting it would help things.

yeah.. looks great, though. it's funny that characters in outrageous outfits often have passive looks on their faces

Cool pic Skeezer. Like everyone else though, i agree that the head and armour don't quite gel...just yet. I think if u hammer away at it, u could get it.

btw, did u get my email? had a chance to upload anything yet? we're doing some maintenance right now, site should be back up in a few hours.

The perspective on the chest armor looks way off. Using the shoulders as a guide, the top of the armor looks right, but the bottom of the breast area seems to be at a different angle, or the right side is a smaller hump. Then the bottom of the chest armor is again a totally different angle.

And the hand ... and the lighting on all the armor ... etc.

The face is great though, with the shadow on the face looking a little weird (on the forhead).

Holy crap...

Well you guys caught me...I did the face first and then added the suit as an afterthought, however I like what I started and I will try and bring the realism level up on the suit.

EviLToYLeT: If you look into the blurred background you can see the fighter behind her, just the cockpit escape pod though. You can see the canopy to the left of her head. I think I will add the smoke, and the battering of the suit.

Solitaire: I hadn't yet gotten around to the undersuit and the gloves, just loosly defining them, but I will sharpen them up.

Flexible Elf: ouch, yes I will try and refine that, what's battlelords? Sounds cool.

eetu: I think I will put the blood back, and I think her face is going to be burnt, or atleast covered in black smoke residue.

Nova: I've noticed that too. Seriously, those people with the most outrageous outfits seem the most comfortable and passive. Weird

immi: I got it, just haven't built my website yet, It should be done in a few weeks.

CyberArtist: Thank you so much, I had no idea how much I flubbed that one up.

thanks

CapnPyro: lol, don't worry I won't get rid of the original, but if I want to stay true to the script outline I wrote, then in this pic she's gotta be pretty beat up.

What do you guys think of the suit, feazability wise, does it work, is it cool or semi-original? I am having some serious doubts about my ability to come up with something fresh. To me this stuff is starting to look like the tomatoe you left in the refrigerator a little too long. hehe.

-Skeez

Oh, by the way, I in no way meant to suggest that this piece of crap deserved its own thread, but I wanted some specific replies. hehe.

Nice work! I agree with EviLToYLeT, the suit realism level doesnt seem the same as the face....if you dont want it to all be the same, maybe you can at least make the parts of the suit closest to her face more refined, and let the bottom run out, that way its gradual.

[edit] ehe...i guess i agree with everyone else too...i didnt read the other posts till after i replied....sorry to beat a dead horse[/edit]

I'm certainly no expert, however this is my $0.02 : )

I think the two styles are cohesive, however the lighting separates the head and the armour. The light on the head (very nice head btw : ) appears to be coming from the top right and is red-ish in colour, certainly a warm light in any event. The light on the armour appears to be coming from the front or the left, and is a little bit blue, as if relfected from the greenery.

I say, if you want to make her stranded in a forest (certainly a cool idea), then green up the lighting on her face (just a teensy bit) and standardize the direction it is coming from.

Alternatively, plonk her in the desert, and give the armour a redish tinge coming from the top right (heavy, low sun).

One last thing, I say make the *ahem* womanly features of the armour (breasts : ) slightly bigger, not out of proportion but just a little more rounded.

Aside from that, it's absolutely fantastic. Wish I could draw like that right now : )

Hope this helps

I hear u sell genetically manipulated food in the US, but damn! That's one fine looking tomatoe.. hehe

It's a great pic, but I agree with the others on the armour. I also think the canopy is a little too defined compared to the rest of the ship.. blur it up some

I tried to add some more definition to the form, by exaggerating the core shadow and adding harder cast shadows falling across the form. I tried to use the same light source which is lighting the face (which by the way is really nicely done). This was an extreme quickie, like 15-20 minutes. There's probably a lot of issues with it, but I gotta go home now.

Wow Francis, if only I had seen that before I tried to fix it myself hehe. I will take your suggestion though, thank you.

here's a slightly revised version, only had 30 minutes to work on it today, mostly worked on the perspective mentioned by CyberArtist, this pic is still far from finished, but I think the chest armor is arranged better.

btw, CapnPyro, sorry, I don't think it will stay that way, just experimenting.
