hi!
the way you did the hair is pretty good already.
Another method would be to draw the strands with a very small hard brush (dark color) and then smudge over it in the direction the hair should go.
since you traced this i will give some comments on the shading only:
the skin tone looks a bit "unreal" or "idealized". Maybe you could go a bit more into other tones.. blueish for instance.
Look closely at some portrait paintings from micke for instance. You may find some interresting color tones in there that you would not expect normally.
Those things make the portrait look a bit more alive.
Well, I hope someone replies here that is more competent than me on this (so about everyone else here )

Tnx for the reply..Nex
And yes the skin color is a bit dull iguess...ill work on that..maybe some blueish shadows indeed. and about the hair part, I've checked the archive(next time ill do that before I post another Q ) and there was a post about hair...and that helped me alot...

Woah... She looks really familiar! I know a girl who looks just like that. :-)
Nice job, btw... Only crit is that the bottom of her chin looks a little too bright... Not quite natural lighting.. Great otherwise, though. |
