i am in the market for a digitizing tablet. the wacom graphire (small imac looking ones)seem to be the most cost effective way of aquiring one.

how do these little guys stack up? i am pretty sure that they will be fine for web graphics, but i do a lot of high rez print graphics.

any feedback will be appreciated. and if anyone has a tablet they want to sell...let me know!

sorry, I didn't mean to sound stupid. What I said don't mean anything in any language....just all I had to say about the topic. You are new here, so you don't know how much wacom questions that are being posted. Anyway, welcome to the forum

Yes you can zoom out and use it for as large graphics as you want. You can do the same with a tablet as with a mouse, only difference is that you are controlling a pen instead of the mouse. ANd, where you place the pen on the tablet, the pointer end up, so that you don't need to scroll up and down, etc... and it's the pressure thing of course. that's about it. Nothing you can do with a mouse that you can't do with the tablet, so don't worry

What hte's the differenc between the Graphire and the Intuos. I know about the levels and stuff. Does that mean it's accuracy?.. and levels of pressure?>

IS that a real big importance?

so. The Tablet space is matched up wtih u're screen rite?> so if u zoom close enuff u can edit the small details even with a 4 by 5 inch tablet?

that info really helps. i just wanted to know about the "zoom" feature. i know how many times this subject has been scoured.....AND I AM SORRY....sue me.

anyways, i just checked out your site......very nice! i really dig the capt.

personally I used a big expensive wacom tablet. The version before intuos. Now I use the cheapest and smallest graphire tablet, and I can't notice any difference, except size of the tablet. I like that it takes up less space, to work with it's just all about what you are used to. A more expensive tablet doesn't mean it's easier to do a better picture. Buy the cheapest and smallest and get used to it. the sensor points on the tablet doesn't matter, with my graphire I can still move the cursor pixel perfect, even with a really high rezolution. You need something like 6000 pixels in screen size before you'll notice anything....I think...and i don't believe there's any graphic card on pc that supports that anyway.

since i'm prety much an amateur artist i'm goign for a graphire 4 by 5, cost only around 100- 160 dollars i think cdn$$

can you "zoom out" to use it on larger graphics? i have never used one.

kinda like if your screen is too crammed...you can choose a larger screen rez too see everything.

Hmm...I'm running an ArtZ II 12x12...VERY big. a pain in the ass when it comes down to putting it somewere but it gives you the chance to be a bit more expresive with your drawing! that I like. I have a SMALL 4x5 Graphire as well and I find it to be limiting to the large sweeping gestures I like to make! It's all a personal taste and what you like best. Feel the most comfortable with!
