Hey guys, it's been a while since i posted anything. Well, here are some skeches from my personal project.
Sorry for the side views (bad feng!)....i'll post the perspective ones later (tho i changed the design a lot went i went to perspective).
These were drawn on brown sketch book paper (not the foxriver stuff..which i usually use).
Hmm....used prisma markers and ink pen. White was added w/ prisma pencil and white gouache.
K, gotta get back to work...
*This message is for TJ Frame* Yo dude, i've been trying to reach you....what's your new e-mail address?

Wow! That's truly amazin how you captured the reflections/lighting. And that's just marker and a simple white pencil huh, very nice!

One thing, I would really love to see you coloring more of your stuff they way you've done with some of those on your page. That looks so awesome too !

Cool as usual, Feng! I prefer the head design on the first one, though the second is neat in looking like a gunbarrel.
I agree with Joachim, you should do more color work as well, the few glimpses on your intro pages just hint at it, I want to see more!
P.S. I added a link to your site on mine. |

This stuff is so damn tight, so nice. What impresses me most is the attention to detail, it is superb. This personal project of yours sounds exciting, is it possible you can share a little information with us... hehe
Anyone who is into this kind of stuff should seriously go out and get a hold of Frank Millers Hard Boiled, with fantastic artwork by Geoff Darrow. The detail level is insane.
Feng, keep posting man, very inspiring to look at!

Great work! Question though; What are the actual size of these images? I'm assuming you probably do them on 8.5x11" or 9x12"... I'm mightily curious...
Congrats on getting the site up too, man! Didn't know you had one until now...I'm linking you in an update to mine tonight.

ahh...what a long work day. Finally i get to check the forum..
Thank you everyone for the positive responses...
Yeah, i really do wanna get more colored versions done, but i just don't have the time (or the patience). I have so many designs worked out in thumbnail form....and my main goal is to draw them all out. Perhaps after i get a big batch done, i'll go back and color them.
About the marker fading over time; i don't really notice any differences. But i always scan my images right after i finish....and you can adjust everything once the drawing is digital. Besides, i don't have a need for the original anyways...usually just ends up in the closet.
And proximo, i live in pasadena.
These images were drawn on 11x14 sketchbook paper.
and thanx to those who added my link to your pages =)
time for some starcraft action! Black_Fish, ready to loose?

Impressive as always, Feng. These images along with those on your site have inspired me so much that I ran out and picked up three reams of Foxriver the other day. Card stock though because I want to experiment with watercolor which raises a question. As you go back and look at your older and more colorful pieces, have your marker renderings faded at all?
Thanks in advance!

I am still a fan of your stuff. Spikey's, capacitors, speckled metal and yay!
Are those stationary droids or do they have antigrav units on the bottom? |
