Micke, how is it to get overwhelmingly positive responses every time you post something? Does it ever make you feel like you're not being taken seriously, like you're being pampered? If you're posting just to share it, then I understand. But are you looking for serious feedback? If so, I would feel robbed if I were you. It seems like I'll I ever read in one of these is, "Hey man, that's great! Can't wait to see more!" I've noticed the same thing for the other big names around here (ie Mullins, Dhabih, Fred and others) too. Do you feel the same elfwood-ness of it all too?

Now, this may seem overtly caustic, but it's not. It's just something that's been bothering me recently and I want to know. And, if I get flamed for this, which is all together too probable, I'm not going to even dignify it with a response.

very beautiful and elegant, very hot.

i'm not nearly the artist micke is, and i love this piece, but in the spirit of the forum i'll try my best to give some constructive feedback...

i kinda liked the first version better. in the original rendition she had a more unique look that was (too me) refreshing, and more appealing. the lower placement of her nose and her flatter hair separated her from the more standard mussed-hair-perfect-nose model look.

the new arm looks better but i'd remove the line that use to represent her wrist but now looks like a stray hair.

http://www.pixeljock.com/sijun/futz/2d_106_3.jpg

now that i look at them side by side i'm not really sure if my comments were all that constructive. anyways, nice .

either way (new, old, or imaginary) this is a great drawing, in no way am i trying to nock it. i'm just trying to live vicariously through your art since i'll never reach your level. and now i have a new desktop background.

That's great. I like how you catch these girls in "mid-pose". It makes you wonder who or what they've just seen.

I dunno, Micke. Maybe a career in art just isn't for you.
Just teasin'. Brilliant work, as usual.

Phreaknasty:
Thank you. I saw the same thing myself when i arrived at work today. Think i'm gonna fix it later.

AButtle:
It's flattering getting positive respons, But
it would mean more if it where a WHY and a BUT. Frost, Fred and Craig, Sedone for example do that. And that's the kind of feedback i want.
I hope i'm being taken seriously.I'm posting it to get critique. People are free to say whatever they want to me, i'm not here to boost my ego. It's not often i get qritique outside the forum except the people i work with, so i think getting it here is the most valuable. It's worth gold to me.
I've noticed that i have posted "great cant wait to see more" myself and i do that if i don't have anything more to add or if i just simply like it the way it is, that's me though. Did this answer your question?

I agree w/ Micke about sometimes not having anything else to say except "that's cool!", because I don't want to critique a drawing just for the sake of critiquing. With a drawing like this, I usually don't point out every little error because it seems like Micke was just having fun w/ it. Also, some people have already commented on her hand and face, etc. If it was a big, complex drawing then I'd probably try to point out more things. But I think Micke gets his fair share of critiques, though.

So, let me attempt to clarify...

You want people to say WHY they like it, BUT here's what they think is wrong?

OR

You want people to say WHY they think something is wrong or right, BUT here's their opinion of it anyway?

Did I get it right, or are you trying to say something different with WHY and BUT than I think you're saying?

A.Buttle, I think you're overanalyzing. If he's like me, Micke posts pictures just to show us what he's working on, and to get opinions, so he knows what is working and what is not, regardless of the skill level of the responder. I'm sure if everyone said "micke you suck, stop posting this crap," he would still want to know why, just as much as he probably wants to know why when someone says "that's cool, let's see more." Also, let's remember that English is not his first language, so microanalyzing how he phrases "why" and "but" might lead to some wrong conclusions.

Just my opinion.

Granted, Francis.

I was just asking for abit of clarification. I'm usually pretty good at allowing for discrepancies with English because I know that many people here don't have English as their first language. But, when I read over a phrase a few times and it doesn't click, I ask. And overanylzing wasn't what I was doing. I was offering options as to what I thought he meant so clarification would be easier.

[Edit]
Now that I think about it a little bit, why are you answering for him? Let him speak for himself.

Ok, then.
Her right eye and eyebrow look a little low on her head. The left wing of her nose looks like it's showing a tad too much. Those are minor.

What I like is the simple rendering, like the white zipper that describes the torso.

I don't usually crit your stuff, because I assume you see the drawing errors yourself, and I'm a fan of your work.

A.buttle:
Ok. Let me try to explain some more:
If someone like my work it would be great to know why. What did work and it also would be great to know what did'nt work so good. I don't mean to sound like "THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO HEAR"
I apreciate whatever answer i get and try to use it to my benefit.
Aliazmoze:
Very often i don't see my own errors in my
drawings, so pointing it out helps a lot!
Thanks

Hmm... Again I have to say that I agree with Francis. I think that is someone says "It's neat. I love it! Please, show more" for example so he/she just mean his/her words. That is what I have used to have do. You see? Maybe I don't give any crit or try to point out bugs or mistakes if someone has said them. So then there aren't anything to add. This is my opinion. Sometimes I feel stupidness when saying and repeating that "I agree, I agree.." -type word-chain. Usually I want to say my own likes/dislikes for painter/drawer. That's what I wanted to tell. Thanks.

Micke-beautiful imgae, although you aren't looking for it, the right eye is too big, it makes her face look a little buggish, just a slight comment. I recently recieved and image of you guys. SGrunger sent it, it has you and Joachim in it and virago. Is this girl drawn the same size as all the other drawings you have on the wall? It is nice to see someone drawing relatively large...refreshing from all the skechbook stuff I see anymore...

Fred,
Nice of you to stop by.
Yeah, there's still some problems with her eyes. I'm gonna fix that and her hand + do some minor tweaks when i got the time.
Hmm.. Not sure what kind of photo you mean. Perhaps its a photo
of my desk, in that case the drawings behind me is drawn on a-4 (xerox)paper and that's the size i usually draw in. I think it's a comfortable size to work in.
Thank you

Hey I like the pic micke, it's simple, and i'd like to see a finalized version.

Aside from that, i'm interested in the amount of feedback on this post.
Right now it's over 50, and that's so good that alot of people are giving you comments on the image of the girl.

Would anyone mind, you too micke- taking a look at my piece of work...i've only gotten a bit of feedback and most of the detailed replies to it have been good...i'd just like to hear a bit more feedback so i can get a general consensus on what parts of it need work, and what parts are good?

it's the dust looking image on the forum
NEW IMAGE - Anthony J
thanks it would be GREATLY appreciated
also on my site...
