This is my 1st attempt at some comic style colourin' a dude named Mike Rocker gave me the inkwork to paint up and this is what I did. Anybody like it?

Thank is a sick picture dude!! The colours are really nice. hmmm.... don't really have much useful to say about the colours
I guess the only thing that 'hurts' the image is the background. Just really contrasting to the character. If you could get the background into the same sort of style, it would probably look better.

Looks nice!
Points I would make. You do lose DareDevil on the red background a bit and I'm not terribly hot on scanned skies being combined with drawn art. The reason being that they generally clash quite a bit - reality vs. imagination. Just my personal taste ...

Dare Devil looks great, but I don't like the background too. The windows are looking very strange and the architecture is wrong also it's probably done by the one who has done the ink-work. |

I knocked the backdrop up in max in about 10 minutes at 5am this morning, Perhaps I should spend a little longer, I guess I was excited (like a little kid me) and wanted to see it on a backdrop, I'll spend a little more time in future, Thanx for the comments, very helpful.

I think you would be better off drawing a background. The textures and the architecture are all wrong in the version you used. Also, I suggest you use cooler colors in the background to make DD stand out. i.e. blues and purples

really really nice work , i especially like the lighting and the fusion with the ink's blacks (kinda rare in most marvel colourings ), the background sucks (sorry to use this alwaysabused word ) but i'm sure u knew it by urself already and it was just a fill up, either try using cartoonist for MAX to shade it cartoony and pass over it with PS or set a better ligthing and use it as reference (personally my field is 3D therefore i tend to like using simple set ups to help me with perspective when i draw/colour (yes i do totally suck at perspective of wide spaces how did u guess that? ) |

thanx for the advice, I will definately use cooler colours for the BG next time and I'll make the buildings a little better, maybe more contrast would make it more comic'y? Yep I know the Background 'sucks', but hopefully with all you guys' advice the next one should be 'Streets Ahead'
