yeah i know exactly what you mean. I think it has to do with the fact that when you look at it right side up, your seeing what you think should be there or something. Then when you flip it, its just lines and not the same as what you drew so you have no predertimined thoughts about it. or something. That was a really crappy job of explaining, but im sure that book drawing on the right side of the brain that everyone talks about probably could do a good job. i hope this helps.... maybe if you ignore the first part you'll be less confused |

Hrmmmmmm, your topic states they never thought you that in art class. Unless your art class was on computers, there's you way you can take lets say a gouache painting or a pencil sketch and flip it sideways  |

I've heard of people using mirrors and rotating a painting and things like that before. Not just recently either.
It's definately a great shakeup after you've been staring at something for too long. it loses the context you've made for it and has to stand on its own again (or something) |
