I've decided to give digital painting a go. Studying the tones really helps me in figure drawing and animation in achieving depth.
Anyway, here's my first post. I'm not at a point yet of doing this in my head, so this is from photo reference.
Feedback welcome.

Moze-good to see you again...digitally, taht is...this is really nice. I assume it is front lit, if so, you have too dark a value on the far side of the nose. That value should be reduced a bit, and then darked the value on the side of the nose facing us by about one or two values, to show its change of plane from the rest of the cheek and front plane of the nose.
I would also put a core shadow in along the break of the jaw line, to separate it from the neck...
I really like the modelling in the hand...very convincing in form...
The eyes don't look like they are line along the same axis, might need a minor correction on that part...
Are you going to take it any further...
