Well Folks, I've never really gotten a good response from these boards, but I still love em!
Anyway - He's my progress on a pic I started about 45min ago:
Started off with a reference of Britney Spears, but I've really gotten off track of that pic, and decided to take the pic somewhere else in terms of appearence.
Right now, the cheek isn't really smooth, but I'll fix that when I start adding in the nose, and uh mouth
What do you think so far? Thanks.

I like the way it's turning out. Kind of looks like what I was never able to achieve with ink on paper. ;)
It looks like, if I'm not mistaken, you're using a soft brush for the face? Then the one piece of advice I can give as you continue drawing is to make sure there are still sharp lines in the face where they're appropriate (the outlines of the face, the creases in the eye, etc.) You've got some very nice sharp lines in the hair, and if you can get some of that detail into the face too, I think this picture will turn out great.
Another interesting little side note... I don't know if this was intentional, but you have a sort of a yin-yang effect going on in the shading of her face. You could possibly play that up a bit for a pretty neat effect (stark white left eye, with a dark black mouth?) |

I actually like it as is, though if it was even more minimalistic and the eyes were done better it'd be simply bad ass... I look forward to seeing more though.

It's kinda hard saying anything about it, since not even the basic head of the face is drawn in place, making the pic hard to comment. Why don't you start getting everything in place at once? It wil save you a lot of time and trouble+a better view how the whole thing is gonna turn out.

Reminds me of a Japanese Kabuki actor. It's hard to give alot of comments on an unfinished piece but I like the tonal quality and the sharpness on the hair. |
