Okay, this is going to sound really stupid!
I just got an old Powermac computer w/a 21inch trinitron monitor. The powermac use to be a graphic design artists and has a lot of old and good programs (which is my hobby) - but the color depth is limited to 256bit color. So, painting in photoshop or trying to do anything else is kind of useless.
Is it possible to buy a convertor to make my mac monitor run on my pc? I know you can buy an adapter to make a pc monitor run on a mac. Any help would be nice.
Oh and also, with this old powermac - would a new video card possibly help? I know not that much about macs - I'm an extreme pc user though
Thank you much. |

It's an old 21in Supermac w/the Trinitron display. I want to hook it up to my pc but don't know if I can - or if there is an adapter for it. |

Okay, time to laugh at me. It's an old Quadro 800 Mac - the monitor is a mac monitor.
Know where I can find an adapter?
I know it could use a new vid card and ram - but I'd rather try and finish my pc than mess with an mac. |

being a mac guy, I don't know if you can get a converter for the PC computer/apple monitor combo. However, do look in the "Monitors" control panel in the Control Panels folder under the Apple Menu and change the color depth if you can. For a Mac that old, you're gonna have a hard time finding a new video card to go in the NuBus slots, but maybe you can lay your hands on some VRAM chips (video ram). |
