Hi there.

Here's a Japanese-esque pic I was sketching. It didn't actually intend it to be a full blown pic but it turned out kinda atmospheric. I wondered whether to put a house, a dragon or a person in the foreground, perhaps sitting on one the hills.

NOTE - this pic kinda needs 32bit colour or the horizon looks bad. :-(

neato!

this pic would do fine with or without anything in the foreground, if you ask me.. but a dragon would certainly look cool.

for some reason, the rocks in the foreground on the left look out of place :\

The middle layer rocks are darker than the foreground rocks, which throws it off a touch. You could stick Strider(game, not LOTR) standing on them.

Anthony: you're right, the rock in the foreground should be darker.

Here's a silly update. These guys are called snorgles. But then, I can call them what I want, can't I.

WOW, do I like that atmospheric perspective? YES....I love the blue, this pic was so peaceful in the first one. I like how the front rock led the eye to the 2nd and then to the back. But now in the update, I get the mystic feel and you have totally added balance to the whole thing.I just love it. Great job.
Any more?

Thanks TeAnne!

The snorgles are just layers at the moment, so I may take them out and do them again but making them a bit less cartoon like.

the snorgle things make the picture look really good, i love the trees in the back. if anything though, ditch the tongues on the snorgles :/ makes em look a little goofy with the horn-shaped beak. but i like the colors

why dont you have a creature coming up from the bottom? there's no defined ground in the image...so you have much more possibilities. That's just my opinion though...::goes back to the back corner of the forum and twiddles thumbs::

Hey - very neat! Like it!

The only thing I might recommend is taking the saturation out of the blue bg-rocks a little bit. They look kinda poisonous because the color is so saturated. Give it a try ...

he he he.

www.rogerdean.com for those of you want to know who Sumaleth is referring to.

I added the snorgles to kinda get a mix of Roger Dean's and Rodney Matthew's individual styles.
