I recently starting having a problem and
wanted to know if anyone else was or has
ever experienced the same thing and knows
how to fix it. Did that make sense? I
think so...

I have an Artz II 12x12 tablet which I also
use as a mousepad for my Intellimouse Pro
(optical). I've never had problems like
this before, but a couple of weeks ago I
started getting some distortion and crackling
while listening to MP3s. The distortion
seems to occur most often when I drag scroll
bars, etc. The weird thing is that it does
this with the stylus and the mouse.

ANyone have any insights into this?

Sometimes your Wacom can be a hog, and it's normal for your mp3 to crackle when you drag your scroller bars. Just play w/ it and you'll see what I mean, the more vigorise you are (ie, the faster you scroll) the more crackling and slowing down of mp3's you'll hear.

Hope that makes some sense.

Yes that makes sense, but I have been running
this identical setup for months now with no
problems, no crackle, no distortion. It
just doesn't make any sense to me that this
would just spontaneously start happening.

you might want to reinstall your soundcard. On my old computer the soundcard was CRAP and crackled even when I would minimize netscape(Quake 2 was just constant static for sound). Then I bought a cheap 40dollar SoundBlaster 16awe and all my troubles went away, winamp never crackles, ever.

I strongly doubt that it has anything to do with your tablet or anything, but just your soundcard. Your soundcard maybe old and dead, so you might want to invest in a new one.
