Eyes should have gone in first. They are the focal point of a portrait. As for now, the lips are that focal point... |

hey thanks man .. yah im still working the nose and stuff ,, the pale one .. that was just the pic with the color layer taken off eheh .. but as far as skin goes .. well this is just me and how i like to do it ..
first off i do the drawing and all and then i pick a few colors and put them on the side of the pic .. then i find the color that is going to be the base.. like the color the skin would be with no blemishes or shadows..(these pics are crappy but it should show what im saying
in tha pic i have made a sep layer for the out line etc.. so i have the base now .. i determin were the shadows are so i make a new layer and find out were the shadows would be .. like around the eye the nose etc.. so i map them out now with the colors that i picked i fill in the maped out areas on the color layer and with the colors that would go .. for instance .. darker were dark would go light were light would go .. so once i have done that im left with somthing like this .. the pic with the colors in place.. turn off the maped out colors layer so you are left with somthing like that pic above and then i take the smudge tool .. set it to like preasure of 78 of so and go at it .. i start like were the 2 colors meet and lightly smudge the shit togeather untill its smooth.. i use the medium air brush size on the smudge , i know some people dont like doing this and like i said this is just me .. so after you are done smudging the crap you get somthing like this .. like i said not the best pic but you can see what i mean .. and just add in some lights and darks as needed and smudge them into the mix.. and you can see in this one with the color map layer on .. hope this helps out and like i said this is just how i do it

Hey that picture is nice. Just a comment, but the left nostril looks a tad funny to me.
The pale one is really cool. If you could make some kind of intense light coming from the eyes, it'd look of neat. The lips and skin look really nice. Hey do you mind giving me some tips on coloring? I kind of have trouble at making skin look like skin and not like plastic. Thanks, looks rad.
