Hey folks..
Made a pic of Buffy for fun. No straight from photo image portrait type of drawing. I used several pics of Miss Gellar as reference, but no straight copy..just to ensure there`s some likeness;-)

Nice work. What media did you use?
I like the posture and especially the light from the moon on the darkened gravestones.

Good work . . .
The pose just seems strange, here abdominal/belly button area doesn't seem to be responding to the twist of the upper body properly or her legs . . . something, but I could be wrong.
Her legs are also a bit too 'chunky' looking for my liking

Thanks..
Medium..,mix of painter and photshop ..mostley painter6.0
AS for pose...damn..forgot to fix the direction of the bellybutton. Thanks for pointing that out.
Chunky legs..hmm. thinner only looked strange.. as for the slightly clumsy movement/stance..well.. thats because Buffy sometimes comes out kinda "clumsy" at times.
I`m, as always gonna look into it;-)

Thats pretty nice Veb. I'm fairly jealous of your skill at this point, and I've always liked that painterly and kind of unfinished look you achieve in your paintings.
I had no idea Miss Gellar worked out so much tho, heh. I think you defined the muscles on the arms a bit much.

this is kind of funny, because below her waist, everything meshes really well, and looks good, but it also looks very much like a classic fantasy-type painting. even down to the proportions on the legs.
above the waist, it looks like you're out of your element a bit. the torso looks over-muscular, the face is a bit flat, and the upper half just doesn't seem to match the lower half.
good effort tho, there's only one way to expand from the fantasy style, and thats practise..

Nice job vebjorn! You did a good job of capturing a realistic feel! The only thing is that's a real okward pose, and a little more detail to the background whole help. Around the moon and such, even though I like the concept a bit more would add a little more realism! Nice skulls man!! |

Damn it Vebjorn! You've certainly been busy!
Great pic. Love the feeling and your painting technique very much! Can't wait to see that tutorial!!!
The only thing that bothers me is how you painted her head. There just seems to be to many black outlines to make it work with the rest of the painting, which look very lovely indeed. Overall I really like it... as usual with you pics

Yep..Gonna tone down Buffys biceps aswell..just definedand flexed from holding that heavy crossbow, but they do look kinda bulging right now. Also do some facial makeover. Still practicing;-)

oh..just a little note...I wanted to make it a fantasy like image, because there are already enough photorealistic/movieposter like images made out there already, and thats not my thing. I`ve done my share of "photocopying"..I`ve made tons of airbrush sorayama/olivia like playmate pictures..not that it`s not a good way to make art or, for training..I just prefer to make my own scenes now. I might scan some of my airbrushbabes and post. Even though I brushed them 8 years ago..they still look photorealistic;-)
The Buffy pic:
Did a few improvements. smoothed some edges around her face, added some more shadow, toned down her muscle a bit, slimmed her lats and waist as well as the direction of the bellybutton. The image at the top of this tpoic has been updated,-)
I`m going off to vaction tomorrow, so I wont be able to do anymore until next weekend,-)

Damn cool as usual Vebjorn! Which reminds me, once we get 3DP and Skindom up for good, we should talk more about that poster idea.

'bjorn,
tres cool.....Buffy is a babe! Your
rendering of Buffy is excellent....
I kind of dig her muscles....I always
kind of felt SMG should work out more
to beef up....we are slaying the undead
after all I could only endorse the
critiques but would offer that maybe
you could throw a little more detail
in the crossbow? Just a thought. Keep
up the good work!

i cant say there is a picture of yours i dont
like and ive seen them all. im not totally qualified in critisizing your work, but i think her foot & ankle in the foreground looks oversize.. although ive only seen her show a few times n never saw her feet. they just look big to me. |

I'd just add more contrast(deeper shadows, maybe a hint of deep blue in them). Nice work-never seen the show, so I dunno if it looks like her, but nice work anyhoo.
