Hi AprilYSH!

It's a very nice start

One of the problems i can see(except for the anatomical ones) is the background. It seems to me that you've added a filter over it
and since the filter only calculates over
a 2d bitmap and not in perpective it becomes flat.

You maybe could make the swords more bigger,
but that's just my personal taste.

Nice, but the background is a bit weird... don't texturize the entire background.

Anyways, the guy looks pretty good

the pillars are way over-textured.

you should concentrate more on their shape than the texture, draw them smooth first, then apply the texture. and if you want to get it to look right, use displacement map inferno on the texture to make them look a bit wrapped-around-the-pillars.

Yeah..I'd have to agree with what Faustgfx and the previous guys have said..a bit over textured on the pillars and background..I'd reduce the bump map on it..and also add more to the ground and what is behind the pillars..(artwork? fire? a monster?..etc)
Bt it is a good start.

what's displacement map inferno? is it a photoshop plugin?

i couldn't figure out how to make the spacing of the grooves get bigger as the pillars came closer, using layer transformations. i forgot to look in distortion filters! drats.

thanks people. when i get another background idea next i'll post it here in progress and get help BEFORE i finalise it

displacement map is a effect that comes with photoshop by default.. it distorts a image based on a source image. there's tutorials on it around, but where.. beats me.

Kill the textures on the pilars. The guy doesn't look like he has an elbow. His legs look wonky and he doesn't match the colour levels of the background.

Potential videogame character though, amid cliche a bit! But potential!
