Hi all, been lurking here for the past few months. Thought I would share some of my digital paintings.
A 10 minute sketch.
Another one.
15 Min sketch.
I like snow. The footprints look like mud or something which bugs me.
A more painterly approach.
The initial sketch.
About 15 mins in.
1 Day later.
Comments welcome. Thanks for the great forum guys!
---- update
Ok think I fixed everything.

"Ook!" That's the exactly the surprised sound I made when I saw your artwork. Very cool images. Very nice style too. Some of your color choices remind me a little bit of Saffron's palette.
"Oof!" - welcome to the board! Very cool you showed up!

Whoa, those are unbelievable. The snowman one is my favorite, especially those footprints. The little dips in the snow on the pinecone one look great. And the eyes on that last pic rule! Awesome job. |

Hi Ook
Very strong artwork! That snowman rulez.
I have one question though...
The details on the skin of the creature in the last picture, did you use textures?
Are they hand painted?...
HOW DID YOU DO THEM?

Francis:
Those are Beluga whales. Well at least beluga whales as best as I can remember them as I try to force myself to paint without reference.
Andromeda:
I like to paint big. (for those who read this... I removed the actual size ones and replaced them with half size versions)
KO:
Yeah there are some overlays of textures in the last painting. I tend to throw overlays in early and then paint over them and use their details for inspiration and variation.
Glad you dig the works. |

Yeah, very nice stuff. I especially like the feeling of being underwater in the picture with the dolphins. Are they dolphins?

Hiya Ook,
Welcome to the forum. Great painted style you have,I like your subtle shading and colour pallet.
The lizard is excellent, the snowman is very nice and the last one is really great, I didn't realise one day later meant the amount of time it would take for all of them to load up Great stuff, looking forward to seeing more.

Wow, those are great. And welcome to the board. Could you post next pictures a bit smaller, my monitor resolution is not exactly as big as those pics and it would be cooler to see the whole thing without excessive scrolling, actually the last one didn't show up properly at all. But still nice work, I hope to see more.

Great stuff Ook! I like the last one a lot! (really like how you drew the girl from that angle, used reference? looks great.)
Fred: I don't think he used special brushes, but just worked out the details with smaller ones. Although the texture work is very nice indeed! |
