These are the first images I've put on this forum. Both Angel and Implant were created in Photoshop 5 with mouse, and don't ask how long it took to finish Angel. It felt like a year. Any comments are welcomed.

Hi Axl, and welcome to the party!

Nice work. The second picture is interesting, but doesn't move me like the first one. I can see you spent a tremendous amount of time on Angel - and it shows! I really like this style.

If I had any suggestions of things to think about, they would be...

Just for the heck of it, try desaturating the colors by 50%. At first, you'll probably hate the way it looks, but save this version. Look at it the next day (without looking at the original before then) for awhile. Then load the original. You might be surprised at how colorful it appears! But, then again, you might like it more colorful...

The only thing that really sticks out for me in this image is the ground at his feet. The bluriness doesn't match the fine detail you added everywhere else for me.

That is one cool sword

Keep up the good work!

Those colors are a bit brilliant. I think the hands on the Angel are a bit too small for me. Detail is real nice!

is the b/w guy Peter Stele? i dont know how to spell his name exactly but my friend looks just like him too. just wondering.

Hey Axl

Pretty nifty character.
And I like the boldness of your color choices.

A few things about the first piece...

I think you need to "breathe a little life" into him:

I'd suggest playing around a bit with his pose. It's a bit stiff & symmetrical. Try standing up & striking the same pose in front of a mirror before drawing it. You'll likely notice that when you're stepping forward with your right foot, your left shoulder will probably lead. One hip will probably be higher than the other, forcing your spine to twist a bit into a soft "S" curve. (I realize he's wearing armour, so you'll probably wanna keep the twisting rather subtle). Perhaps bend one elbow a little.

I'd also like to see some variation in the lines of the cape & hip sash. All the edge lines are pretty parallel (and they match the angle of the sword too closely - or was that intentional?). Break them up a little bit. Maybe add some curves & other real world imperfections.

Clearly, there's some wind in there, blowing his cape. It might be a nice touch if you let his hair be affected by that same wind.

Again, cool design.
I'd just like to see him a little bit more "animated".

I really like your second pic

The first one seems a bit stiff to me...
