mmk....i see all these people copyrightying things...but fact is it costs money to copyright stuff...i might be worng on this about digital art n stuff...but all these companys that go off and copyright their names and logos n stuff go off and pay for their right to have it copyrighted.
Ive been seeing people here saying copyright this copyright that...but itd cost a fortune to do that. All we can hope for is that people have morals and do go off ripping off other peoples art. Oh yeah...happy bday me =)...heehee...
heres my latest creation btw www.oriondd.com/nwong/pix/2d/tekbg.JPG
its rather big coz it was made to be wallpaper kinda stuff.

N8, assuming that you are in the US:

Copyrights are inherent when you produce an original work. Filing with the Libary of Congress gives you some backup, in the event that a dispute comes up. But filing is not necessary for you to have rights. IF you file, it is extremely cheap, around $25 or so per work.

As for logos and names, you're talking about trademarks. The law handles these differently, but you still have rights when you use a mark, even if you don't file. Perhaps you've seen the TM next to logos. That means that a) they haven't filed b) they have filed, but are waiting for the mark to be registered.

So, most of the rights we have to original work is built in. The digital era has forced the laws to be rewritten, but the changes favor the creator.

BTW, happy birthday.
