Hi, Everyone! Meet Julie Phoenix.

Here's a pic I did a while ago in Illustrator. I didn't use any shading because I wanted a very crisp, clear image. I intended her to be used in a cartoon or something similar, and they usually don't have much shading. Plus, I think it's just easy on the eyes and I personally like the style.

Anyway, there are some minor issues, imho. Her legs could have smoother lines, her pants should hang a little differently on her shoe in front, her arm lengths should be tweaked a bit, boobs could use a little *ahem* work (no pun intended), etc. Overall, I'm really happy with the pic. Especially her face. It's usually a trouble area for me.

Lemme know what you think! But just don't get any dirty ideas.... she's MINE, you hear?! Just kidding (man, I need to get out more!!!)

Thanks!

Let me first say I'm certainly not an artist, but I'll still give my opinion about the pic:

Very well done, the legs seem fine to me though her left leg could be cleaned up a wee bit.

The one thing that really jump out at me is here eyes. Maybe you could add a bit more detail or something to them, I'm not sure if that's possible to do that and maintain the cartoony feel, but thats just my $.02

Oh I love this!

Jinkies! it reminds me of old-school hanna-barbara cartoons.

Fantastic, very nice style here.

If this girl isn't already in vector, you should give it a shot and make some posters with her. Good work.

Ooo i like

i agree that the eyes could use a bit more detail, like pupiles(sp?) and the rib cage could be pushed in a bit on the sides. other than that she pretty hot... er uh.. for a drawing that is

Hey, thanks for the great compliments!!! They're awesome to hear!

I actually intended for her to not have any pupils. It was just a style choice. I tried giving her pupils, but she just looked like a regular, typical cartoon character. I really wanted the blue in her eyes to stand out, so I decided to leave out the pupils and let the irises do the talking. Odd decision, I know

Well, here's the only other pic of Julie Phoenix I did. She also has a brother named Kyle, but I haven't posted his pic yet. I figured people would rather see a hot babe instead of a hot dude. He's a big, buff, cool guy that loves and protects her. Whatta guy!

Anyway, This pic was the "action" pic of the two. Also looks good printed out My friend even has them hanging on the wall!

Enjoy!

Would you mind posting a vector version so we all can print her up and put on the wall?

I'd love to, but all the Illustrator files are over 4 megs each. My ISP would kill me. Sorry!!!!

Unless someone knows of a way to post a vector image from Illustrator that doesn't turn into megabytes.... (sorry, I'm kind of illiterate when it comes to stuff like this).

Save it as an EPS and zip it. I can host it for you if you want... Just post it somewhere and mail me where i can find it and I'll mirror it.

Okay, I did it! Thanks for the input! It's amazing how several megs can be shrunk down into less than 400k!

Ok, the images as they are should be ready to print. They're all full-size. The only thing you guys should have to tweak is your printer settings. Also, you'll notice that Julie Phoenix 2 (the action pic) is turned on its side. This is so when it prints out, it's in landscape mode. That's the way it's supposed to be... it looks fine when you print it out even if it's a bit weird to look at on the screen .

Also, I hate to say this since 99.9% of people here are honest, art-loving folks, but I just gotta say it to make myself feel better.... please don't edit this pic and post it! If you want to play with the colors and print it out yourself, then sweet! Just don't rework it and say you made it, ok? SORRY!

On a happier note, I really appreciate all the positive feedback. Who would have thought people would want to hang my art up! Thank you so much! Here's the url to the zipped file. I believe it is around 400k. Both images are encased. Have fun!

Let me know if these printed out okay for you guys!

PS: Having good quality paper REALLY helps the print-out. Regular paper looks kinda bleh.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

You might want to collapse the text into paths before exporting as EPS, otherwise the person viewing it must have the fonts you used...

Just so you know in the future...

hey definately love the pic and style. Only thing I see which you may want to watch out for in the future, is that her shoulders are really wide...a bit mannish if you will =)

That's a common problems w/ many artists (even me) when drawing female characters, you tend to import male characteristics =/

Looks very good, I love the coloring and choice of colors, and I especially love that second pic, keep up the good work, lookin forward to seein more =)
