Just wanted to take a minute to let you guys know what we've been working on.

These are a couple of stills from an inhouse project that Aliasmoze and I are working on. It's an online cartoon about pirates called High Seas. We've completed the preview and should go live this summer.

Aliasmoze painted the backgrounds. I did the animation and layouts.

We should be posting the first episode up soon. Enjoy.

Is that a three-headed monkey behind you?
GREAT stuff! I can't wait to see the animation... Will it be in flash?

Kos, thanks! The show will be shown in Flash and various video formats.

Francis, recognize the set? Say what?
We've both worked at Disney but are now independent. Jeez, you murder ONE person, and you're suddenly "unhirable." joke

Oh, isn't this the set that was in the painting from that thread a while back? Craig worked on a painting that was a background from an animation, which seemed to be the deck of a pirate ship. Maybe I'm mistaken.

The one Craig did was derived from our layout. His kicked major ass, of course.

Wow. Looks great, can't wait (oh no, I'm rhyming again)

*plops in another pill*

...much better.

Anyway, what software are you guys using for the animation aspect of the show?

The animation, layouts, and clean up are done by hand. We're using PS for the background painting and Flash for the final compositing and delivery.

I take the Monkey Island comparison as a great compliment, but Monkey is much more cartoony. Our show is more of an action/drama.

Speaking of which, what the HELL is up with the new Monkey Island? The sequel to Curse is all 3D, like Grim Fandago - it's a travesty! (Nothin' against Grim Fandango)

Wow this looks very professional. Have you completed any other Flash animations in this style that we can look at?

... Looking forward to seeing the final cut.

We are currently working on a couple of series in Flash - for other websites.

This is our first inhouse show so we really wanted to put some production value into it.

We're hoping you guys can see it soon. We don't have a definite time frame for posting the preview.

Thanks everyone for the great support so far.

Fred, thanks. It's tough going from the top of one craft to the bottom of another (painting). It's a lonely ride, starting as an amatuer all over again. Anyway, I'm gonna keep training. I've got some concept work coming up in about two weeks, so maybe I'll post some non-background paintings then.
