Hey all. I know there's a thread below, but I decided to start a new one where all the info is readily available.
First off, with a lot of help from the great guys at GFX artist.com, (esp Arno) we were able to upload our Post Apocalyptic gallery with all the top notch entries: http://www.gfxartist.com/3dpcontest/
By the time you're reading this, all of the links to the full size images should be working. I ask that if you know anyone who entered the contest, you direct them to there. Spread the word that it is up, thanks.
If you still havn't heard the situation 3DPalette is currently in, here's my little letter that was posted on GFX Artist:
"As you may have noticed, 3D Palette is currently down. Unfortunately, at this point I can not accurately say when the site will go back up. We have been told a week, but I would imagine it might be longer. I am extremely pissed off at the moment as it is just one more ridiculous situation that has resulted from our network hosts Frag.com. The situation is compounded by the fact that I was really looking forward to posting the gallery of entries from our Post Apocalyptic Contest.
I am almost shaking with rage right now. A week may not seem like a long time, but for a site that we have put our heart and soul into, it is...and it hurts the site severely. Through no fault of our own, we have let down a lot of viewers. I was so looking forward to posting the gallery of entries. I'll not go into the details, but the blame lies squarely on the shoulders of Frag's owner Jonathan "Zyfly" ([email protected]) He has let us down before, and it seems obvious he shall do so in the future. I encourage every one to e-mail him, and perhaps with the added incentive, the problem can be resolved sooner. Frankly, the guy's an asshole, direct whatever venom you may hold to him."
Theres not much that I can add, other than we're trying our best to get the situation rectified, but its sort of out of our hands.

Do you know why frag.com is down for so long? At least it explains why I haven't received any email for the last week or so .

Sumaleth, its simple. You know the dickhead who runs it, "zyfly"? Yeah, he (he works at an isp btw) got in a fight with his boss, who then in turn decided to pull the plug on frag.
So now frag is down, and the only news I can get is from arlo, which isn't much. Zyfly, in his infinite wisdom,. obviously decided it was best not to inform all of his webmasters of the situation.
Apparently, Zyfly is moving us all to his own server (which has been in the works for what...a year?) and I'm told by Arlo it will be done in less than a week. However, knowing Zyfly, I can't say I'm optimistic. Oh yeah, and if it isn't done in a week, it won't be done, in 2 weeks, because Zyfly is taking off to e3.
Now, can't u just feel the love for frag? |

man why didn't this occur to me sooner. If you want a server you should try contacting the people at www.bla-bla.com who sport an independant community (they are a partnersite of mine). Brings in quite a nice amount of traffic and stuff. You might not wanna but that's an option you could do i think. They'd be willing to host your stuff if you were an affiliate.

Um... Immi, what's the 'official' explanation for the downtime going to be? I mean, what're you going to post on 3dpalette when it comes back up? "Sorry, but our host is an asshole"? |
