What I don't understand is that how do people like this (assuming that he's guilty) expect to gain anything by stealing? I remember the incident with Saffron's eye pic too. It was easy enough to believe him then, but now, I just don't know. Well Mongoose, everyone knows your real name, what you look like (in the pic thread I believe) and that you quite possibly steal other peoples work and pass it off as your own. Dude what were you thinking?

Damn man..
I don't think he'll reply at all to be honest. It would probably be too embarrasing.
The car is from Rem and would not ever take 30 hours to do. The other stuff on his site is probably fake too. This is sad, cause i really liked the suff on his site wich i thought was his

My guess is the time homoured "post modern exploration on the fragility of identity" explanation; ie. "I did it to show how easy it is" and 'Gooseman is captainanonymous

Whoooaaaa....

Okay first of all, yea I did rip artwork in iCE 3+ years ago. Everyone in the "underground" digital art scene knows this - it is no secret. Yes, the images that "CaptainAnonymous" (likely massd) posted are true. However, I did that shit YEARS ago. I thought the whole digital art scene was a joke, and I took it for granted, also getting myself in a LOT of trouble. I don't do that anymore.

I didn't even realize that I had that "Ballistic" design on my page, I glady removed it.. it was just a screenshot in a series of many that somehow made it into my "web portfolio". Again, it is removed.

Those 3D models (both) were modeled AFTER the ones you will likely find on REM. I have the models and textures on my hard drive right now. Or, do you think I paid $300-$400 for some model I would use to take a simple screenshot on my page? Heh, I think not.

So, in summary, yes I did rip artwork in iCE years ago. No, I do not do this any longer. And as far as my membership with Seire is concerned, this also has been addressed. I draw in stages, showing steps involved. I even offered to point my webcam at me actually drawing my art to disprove anything the "leaders" might think.

Anyway, it's up to you whether or not you want to believe anything I am saying.. obviously. But, it's the truth.

Oh by the way, if I was STILL doing that shit, would I make myself so public? Posting on a forum that gets like 1000 new members a day? Advertising cperry.com (which has my real name and picture plastered all over it) ? I really don't think so.

Mongoose.

If you modeled that car after the pic on that site, you're a genius.

I have yet to see a genius in my life.

Come on!!!
Nobody modell something out of an existing model wich is allready modelled.
How do you do that? Copy a drawing is one thing, but i never heard of to modell after
a modelled car. Also:
-the enviroment-mapping is exactly the same.
-The position and intensity of the lighting is exactly the same.

-The colour on the car is exactly the same.
-opacity on the windows is exactly the same.

Also if you would model it after a picture
you would have spent more than 30 hours just tweaking all the shadows to be in exactly the same position and colours and getting the reflections right.
I'm saying this since you claim it to be modelled out of pictures of the real one.

Everybody knows that it's not difficult to
get hold of that model for free(if you know what i mean).

To me it looks like you've just rotated Rem model slightly.

Man there is absolutely no way you modelled that Jag. Your full of shit.

For one, why the hell didn't you make it a differant colour, all the colours are excalty the same. For two, even the reflections are the same, what did you just happen to use the same reflection map as the rem authors? For three the only distinguisable structual differant that I can find are the seats where it looks like you just taken the rem model and deleted a coupla chunks off the seats.

There's always the chance that I'm wrong. But I thinks it's pretty damn small this time.

So what'd you do? Find a pirate version of the model and make a few renders off it and delete a few chunks to make it more amatuerish?

Come on, you can tell the truth. You won't lose face.

hehe ya'll slowww bums :o
He didnt render it, it would take him couple days! They either have more pictures of that model somewhere, OR they used this one picture in the old days, but since it didnt show much of a great model, they put this new picture you see..

But why do i care hehe i never rip, and maybe because im from Russia where people never heard what ripping is =8-D

How thoroughly weird... But what puzzles me most is why anyone would rip that crappy 1-hour eye I did for my animation, when there's much better stuff available everywhere. At least French rippers steal with some taste

Saffron: Hahaha... =)

I have to agree with Micke. Making a car model like that with this much detail is almost impossible to make in 30 hours, even for a pro.

'Autocad'? Hahaha... yeah, right.

I hope I'm wrong. Cause I so f*cking hate rippers and lamers.

Why all the trouble in flaming a non orginal
artist? It's not worth the effort

Like mentioned in a reply earlier some people
will allways try to 'rip/copy/steal' ideas or
complete images and call those fake images
their own 'masterwork'.

Raw ideas are NOT copyright protected, and
the desperated 'artist' might think that it's
no problem to simply copy the COMPLETE image
without a credit too.

That's life, such things happen everyday,
a zillion acts like these can be found on
the web, in newspapers, books etc..

He tried to play it smart, lost and that's
it. For some people the presure to 'prove'
his or her skills to the outside world can get him/her in such 'stupid' situations.

Call him a lamer? nahh.. too easy, he has
just been ignorant for a while and based upon
a facade. He deserves another chance, cuz he
might learned from his faults

"if you can't make it fake it" tDR

p.s Posting an anonymous message is XTREME
shit too. It does not make you cool, why
not post it again under your own name?
Esp. if your a friend, why stab him in
back and start a 'riot'. I have 0 respect
for people like you TOO!

Hi Mongoose

That's the worst bull I've ever heard... and I've heard my share!
You are so full of sh*t!... I really can't understand how such a dumb f*ck as you can think of getting away with such a stunt... do you try to earn easy money by promoting yourself with ripped designs?...
How stupid is your little teenage-brain?
Get lost and stay away... please do us all that favor. The second time, there is no excuse! And I beleived you the first time.
But now the benefit of the doubt is there no more!

Blah... enough of this...
Just stay away Mongooser Looser

WOW! I'm really mad
Sure feels good to let out some agression!
It relieves the work stress.

assa, is that an actual Designers Republic quote? I only remember seeing "talent borrows, genius steals, shit copies" (they've of course borrowed the original quote from Oscar Wilde, or was it someone else )

I dont completely agree... first of all there is such a thing as "Intellectual Property" which applies to such extensive and abstract things as storylines that cant be fully copyrighted. Second i think that ripping in any way should allways be answered by publicizing the rip, flaming the ripper on boards, etc., to serve as an example and show other potential rippers that you DO NOT get away with stealing artwork/designs and the like.

Perry, do you think that everyone here is dumb ? To model that jaguar would require considerable skills that you don't have. You put Acad in software credits on your site, that's just stupid. You don't model something like that in Acad, it would take forever. Both models are exactly the same, you didn't even bother to change materials.

I'm sure that you didn't pay for the model but just grabbed it on some warez sites.

This individual should be banned from the forum.

After reading all these posts; I have but one conclusion -- Thieves suck. Period. Who cares how long ago it was done. Thieves suck. Period. Plagerism SUCKS. Period. It's OK to use reference; Whether it be photo, or even another artists work because of their talent; But it is _not_ at any time acceptable to copy, modify and be obviously plageristic and call it your own. Just my two cents.

You know what? Fuck off.

I really could give two shits about what 99% of you think about me. For some reason you feel that your opinions towards me will somehow effect me? Think again. I don't give a rat's ass how you regard me or my work. The handful of people from this forum that I have gotten to know on a more "friendly" level will recieve as much explanation, proof, etc. they need to see that I am telling the truth. I'll draw for them on my webcam, I'll meet them in person and draw in front of their faces... but the rest of you really don't concern me. Think whatever you want, it's a free world. I won't be here to respond to any of your cute little "flames", so have fun talking amongst yourselves.

To all of you that I have gotten to know a little better (Scoop, darkmoon, Joachim, Binke, Oscar, etc.. etc..), you will recieve as much proof as you want to show you that I am telling the truth.

Goodbye.

Now you listen to me you little rat!
Did'nt you think people would react the way
they did?????? Who the hell do you think you are?!
By putting up all those stuff
on your f#####g fake site to be wiewed by the public.
Only the fact that you have to be viewed
on webcam in order to be believed is a tragedy! It's like a prisoner that has to be
under surveilance 24 hours a day to keep him
doing any stupid things.
Also....WHO in the hell shouted the worst and protested the most when Threnody posted
those to 2 fake pics? I'm sure you Remember that.

Damn you suck

hmm. mongoose is actually pretty funny. after all, not many will kickban you out of a irc channel after you make comments about his comments of a certain woman's looks, and how tragic his life must be with his rich parents and his eating disorder. how sad. i'm in tears. his life is so sad ):

eh. people here are suffering from (excuse me for not being a medical genius, i don't know fancy latin names for this shit) bad heart, blood vessel issues, assumed brain tumor, fucked up metabolism, blood pressure shit, drug after effects, various social issues such as hardcore discrimination, outcasting, hate, and so forth, not to mention wrecked motorics system, wrecked nerve tracks, wrecked aural senses, wrecked visual senses, wrecked lungs, and so forth.

but after all, mongoose has every right to kickban someone for stabbing him with comments about his arrogance and mannerless behaviour, and his tragic life with his eating disorder.

oh, more of his tragic life with his father owning the largest oil transportation company in canada or something like that... how sad ):

after all, how could anything be more sad than that... i mean, don't everyone want a father who's fucked in the head to begin with, burns himself and your house, ruins your life, and forces you to live the next * years with your "mother" who's a caustic bitch from hell, and all this time, you're in a web of poverty, insanity, violence and fuck-ups.

naw, screw that. oh, i better shut up or mongoose will tell me to "grow up and quit whining <kickban>".

out.

to admit that you used to rip, fine ok, at least it's owning up, removing those past images, good move too, and least it started out looking like you were going to be semi mature about it.

But claiming those 3d models as your own, bad move. You should have owned up on that one. No offense man, but your not that good, to copy a model with that level of acuracy is not going to happen, sorry. Especially not by an amature in the field of 3d.

Ripping off other people's mistake is a very bad idea in this industry. This is an industry where word travels fast, especially employer to employer. Companies won't hire someone when there is a risk of them not being able to do what they advertise.

I hope there's some kind of lesson to learn from this. Cause if you walk away going "no it's mine, i swear" well .... that will be a shame, and will more than likely indicate that you do not understand the severity of your actions and will continue to do this kind of thing

mongoose

doesn't matter.
you lied to everyone, and boy.. I !@##%& hate when people lie.

Okey, if you lie, but you admit it in the end, that's ok,

but the thing that bugs me is, that you flamed OTHER people for doing the same things you had done..that totally sucks man.

It's like if you, for an example, had cheated on tests, and then started to hunt down others that have cheated, and then expelled them from school..

And besides, you havent confessed all your sins yet it seems. I care no less.

It is like they say

the bad guys always get caught in the end.
