I've forgot to read this forum in the past weeks, but obviously there's still excellent stuff being posted, like the ones from Micke and Frost I just saw
Well, just to counter the trend, here's a piece of mine that I'm unhappy with. I've had this lying around in various stages for months, and now I'm supposed to finish it for a friend but I'm completely fed up with it. I guess I'll just have to force myself to work on this thing once again, in the meantime take this version for what it's worth...

Great color perspective, and I can see that this is something you have been working on for a while.....If you were planning on detailing the whole image, thats great, but I really like how it seems to opiphanate at the face...sort of like that "center of the world" thing some people relate to when doing portraits...
...Keep up the good work!!!

Beautiful work Saffron!
If I had anything to suggest, it would be what Affected mentioned about the 'spikes' and such. I guess you could also expand your image on top if you feel too constrained working in that area.
Excellent!

ahh talking about dreams! I remember having horror dreams from which i couldnt get out.. mutated things coming at me and trying to kill (and sometimes killing me eheh) but few years ago i had a few dreams in a row from which i could actially wake up by myself! I dunno how to explain but somehow i imagined getting out of dream and round thing appeared in which i got sucked in and then i was woke up cool eh?
hmm my dreams are l33t cause last week i dreamed that our school library would be closed because it was dark and no people in it.. next day i see that it was really closed ))

I agree. Too many of the images posted in this forum seem so aggressive, this is a welcome change.

I love it just the way it is! If you do end up finishing it be sure to save a copy of it the way it is right now! To me the stuff near the head looks like a raging thunderstorm, and when contrasted with the peaceful sleep of the baby it really gives the pic a provocative feeling... The only thing I'd suggest is a bit more detail on the ear to help transition from the face to the *storm*. |

Very nice, the dream's really flying off the babys head. But be careful with those orange spike-like things, they could easily start to look menacing...

Hey Saffron,
*VERY* nice image. (I'm putting it mildly ) If you want my opinion, call this one finished (except maybe for the ear). I just love the paintstrokes that are flying around.
Some of your paintings (this one in particular) are quite close to the visions I once saw in a Lucid Dream I had a few years ago. Spooky stuff at the time.. :-o

That image is way fly, but my eye wants to see the ear in more detail. Other than that, it is wicked cool.

o0oo0o i totally adore your stile , couldnt you like try to blurr away the earmess thingie, that would look better, everything else is just superb, and the detail is where the focus is, on his face, oh well, love it |

Thanks for the comments everyone, I'm flattered! (and really glad that you like it, as I had got so frustrated with it myself at one point)
I'll post the finished version in a few days... I had figured on doing more detailing on it, but now I'm leaning towards leaving it mostly in this brushy state. Well, I'll see what happens... the ear needs to be done of course, I had marked the place for it but then somehow completely forgot about it
