Most of this image was done in greyscale in photoshop with only a mouse.
early grey scale image
Today I figured I'd finish off the ear and color it. The above is the result.

AWESOME!!! Great job, dude, that ROCKS. Awesome use of color... It's cool how you incorporated the blue in there, it looks great. |

oooh.. i love the light and colors you have going on there. could maybe use a specular highlight on the eyeball.. but otherwise a great use of color and light to build the volume and definition. good work!

Well, no. Not all. I used my tablet on the ear, and for most of the coloring. I'm still trying to get used to using one with some degree of control.

Your lip color seems off. Looks like you are wearing lipstick. Too pinkish me think. |

Looks awesome! I couldn't do that! The only little comment I have is that if you would desaturate the yellow backgroundglare a tad and give it a less amorphous shape it would add to the very nice realism you already got going ... congrats, nice one!
Btw - what did you use as reference? Mirror, photo?

My lips look like I'm wearing lipstick naturally. I used to do plays, and I'd never have to put on lipstick because my lips were already red enough. =)
As far as realism goes, I was only trying to get my face shaped right, and somewhat realistic lighting on the face itself. Color wise it's intensionally surreal.

Arhhhh... I know where the blue light that shines in your face comes from...... Obvious it is a "BLUE SCREEN".
It reminds us of how much we love Microshits Windows 95/98 and its great stability. |
