Hi, I'm trying to make this cartoon bunny into a punk bunny for a band. I'm rather limited in my own artistic abilities, so I'd like to call on the abilities of anyone out there who's artistic and has enough free time to give me a hand. I'd basically just like to put earrings, eyebrow rings, and some spiked hair on this bunny. If you have some spare time, please give it a try... thanks in advance for any help I get... the bunny's at http://www.geocities.com/punk2021/qbunny2.jpg |

for those of us who aren't copyright endured,.. there is a clause,. wherein if there is a minimum of 10% change in an image then it isn't a copyright infringment, unless you see in writing ""you can't use this image in its whole or part" with the lil (TM) or (C) symbol,. and even then,.. there are still ways of going around this,.
i did a little research on this at one time, because i was working with some people that wanted something that looked too much like a disney cartoon,. and welll i worked at a copyright law firm at the time, so it was easy,.
names and words are easy to copyright, images aren't,.. that is why legal people don't suggest giving out "Full Rez" images, or source codes

Thanks for the picture, mjc. Did you say you finished it in that last post? Cause the picture isn't actually there, if you did some more to the picture.
LeChuck, yeah, it IS the Nestle Quik bunny, but seeing as this is for a punk band (whose name is QuikFix) then we found it appropriate.
B, thanks for the copywrite info... I was sort of wondering about that myself, but now I don't need to...
If anyone else takes a shot at this, can you try some wallet chains going from the belt (even though there isn't one) to the wallet pocket? It would look awesome... anyways, I'll take whatever I get and put them all together to make a sweet picture... THANKS for all the help, everyone |

Besides, if it's a punk band, no one's ever gonna see it anyway. :P

Best worded art copyright info I've come across is found here:
http://www.wizardschool.com/wizschool/Resources/wscopyrt.html
I personally dont know if editing this image so much is legal or not, but I do find it a tad uhm...wrong. It seems too many people have a hard time coming up with an idea, or implementing it themselves from scratch.

I don't mean to be rude at all, but this is a punk band. The whole purpose of punk is to analyze and sarcastically mock illogical parts of our society, such as our addiction to being popular and seeking the approval of our peers. Anyways, that's just a little off topic. The point is that this band is making fun of, and mocking large corporations, such as nestle. I don't really see a problem in all of this, seeing as they're a small local band in a city of about 20 000 in northern BC, Canada, so we don't really have to worry about the executives of nestle seeing this. As for the idea that it's morally incorrect, well... I must say again that they are mocking the corporations. It wasn't just them stealing a logo cause it looked cool (there are a lot that look better to start with) but they actually are using it for it's name attachement and so on... just to mock the major companies. I personally don't see it as a bad thing, but that's because I have a general disliking for large companies. But what would you say if it was microsoft being mocked? Or AOL??? Probably would support it 100% (although you wouldn't attach your own artwork to it, or your name for legal reasons)

n8, thanks for the wicked pic... are you going to put a chain on? That would kick some ass... well, I really like the work that you have all been doing on the bunny. It really looks good... the only problem that we're faced with now is picking one... I think I'll probably just take bits and pieces from each and put them together. I'll put up the final product if I can make a decent looking bunny... but thanks for all the help everyone... if anyone takes another shot at is, please throw in a chain... thanks...

heh, I thought mine should have a chunk or two missing from his ear, just to make it look like he'd been in a large grapple sesh as some club.
geez, I just noticed how oldschool my guy looks. Still, as far as I'm concerned punk finished in '79. The spirit lives on however. (how many punks today would be seen in bondage trousers? HA! now there's an inmage.) |

hehe... yeah... I dunno... I'd personally wear whatever the fuck I felt like it and not care about what people think, but most punks DO have an image to uphold... whatever... I don't think that punk could have ended in 79, cause then you'd have to say that bad religion isn't punk. And, well... bad religion doesn't SOUND all that punk, but it if you take a look at the lyrics, you know that it is... anyways, the fight scene thing sounds cool... I might try doin that to the picture... we'll see... it all looks pretty good so far. I'm going to get all the band members to take a look at everything now and do a vote or something... well, thanks for all the help everyone... 19 replies... 20 now, I guess... not bad...
thanks...

Muzman, are you going to do something with the tail on that one? It looks really good as it is, but if you could do a punked up tail and possibly a wallet chain... from the belt to the back pocket... anyways, it's all looking good... now I just have to get some ideas of how to make them a good webpage that integrates the bunny... well, if you have any ideas... |

Bad Religion still kicks ass... They may not be doing anything as good as Suffer or No Control anymore, but I love No Substance anyway. |

yeah... good call, tunisch... The new stuff is the best music you'll find out there, except the old stuff.... you'll never find anything better than old bad religion... Hmmm... yeah, I personally like the first bunny a lot, but the other band members will probably go for one of the more hardcore punk images or something... Anyways, I'll try to get all the boyz from the band to come and take a look the next time they jam here... thanks everyone |
