looks like you seperated each piece with the magic wand, coloured it all in...then
used the good ol Dodge/Burn tool.

except...you only did that..

looks like it needs more work.

help? Okay...you need to pick different tones of the colour *example in a green area choose different greens / zoom in...and manually paint in the shading* don't just rely on the dodge burn tool...or else...it will really show as a dodge burn piece.

my site is screwed right now

Overall good image, but your lighting is totally off. Make sure you choose your source(s) of light and shade according to it(them). He looks like he's got a yellow light glowing from underneath his helmet unto the ear cover thing. Kinda odd...

Keep it up, very good for a first!

When working from an extremely detailed drawing, sometimes it's best to use as much of the drawing as possible instead of just trying to create entirely new shading.

Here's an example of what you can do if you just leave the original drawing as is (for the most part) and add color with some slight alterations to the value to help with darks and lights.

This image is another good example of how just leaving the original looks good.

Hello CyberArtist!
It's amazing what you can do with that image! I just wonder if you could complete that image for me? The skin look verry realistic. You see this person is from Asia and his eyes are brown. Please let me know if you wanna comlete that image for me?

Best regards: Zafar

All right - no one cared to comment on the new thread I posted - which I souldn't of done. Tell me what you think of this one, I just overlayed some colors and added some detail, so it's not that complex.

I think Skirmpish could really do a lot with the pic. His face looks really really good.

zafar: I'm going to have to decline your request to color the entire image. It's a beautiful drawing, but if you want it colored, it'd probably be best if you went and downloaded PSP6.0 or whatever the newest one is and play with that.

I am curious as to what media was used to draw that. I'm guessing charcoal.
