I'm sketchy on the details, but there's a guy in my Sociology class who is a potential for this new agency. According to him (definitely an unchecked source... but he didn't appear to have any motivation to lie about it), the Home Protection Agency will be able to close all US borders at any time, and "freeze" ANY citizen's rights if they feel there is warranted cause.
I'm not trying to scare anyone (though I may be doing a good job. I'm scared for damn sure), but this is what I -heard- (no news or anything). So keep an eye out for it in this coming year...
Ironically, the guy sits next to a Civil Liberties major...
Also, coincidentally, the new Criminal Justice Professor is a card-carrying member of the FBI... creepy, huh? I'm definitely scared.

*raises eyebrow. Glares at American govt. Gets up. Shuffles off into the dark corner where she belongs.*

whatever

...the u.s. government is going to grab as much power as it can; if americans are worried about their civil liberties they should protest in mass, complain to their representatives, ect

...and the next time a presidental election comes up, dont let the losing party sue themself into office!

it amazes me that people are just now realizing that bush is scumbag. people should have taken note when he sued the state of florida to throw a fucking national election...the guy actually took the state of florida to court to change state laws in the MIDDLE of a FUCKING election and NOone said "WAIT!! WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING?! THROW HIS ASS IN JAIL!"

the sad part is that the supreme court is so corrupt that they fucking took the case, instead of throwing it out on its ass like they should have.

homeland security...oh wait...fatherland security. ashcroft, bush, an cheney sitting in a tree k i s s i n g. first comes federal regulators spiking prices to create a california energy crisis then cums oil pipeline deals gone wrong n' regieme changes that spark 911 then cums all these fucking nukes to bomb us into heaven

I just pass on information given to me by Americans at other forums.

Also, anyone have any opinions on Bill C-36? That one that gives the cops in Canada the right to violate some of yours?

This is month-old non-news. Its not going to happen.

Always be skeptical of stories like this . . . there's a ridiculous amount of information at your fingertips when you're online.
