The theme for this month:

UNFINISHED

Inspiration image by Leonardo da Vinci

Here's an unusual one (for what is usually the quiet part of the year for Sijun): if you have an unfinished image that you always intended to get back to, now you have an excuse. It might be something that was started but never finished, or a speedpainting that you thought about giving a more finished treatment to.

If you don't have anything suitable, I guess you could finish da Vinci's Adoration of the Magi for him.

Before and after images would be interesting.

2D and 3D accepted, digital and not, finished or sketched, new or old. Feel free to cross-post images into other relevant threads, and to post older images that fit the theme. The more the better.

I'm sure everybody has one these in their drawer, I mean a picture of a flying pig with a jetpack and a tommy gun? Very Happy

This is (thank god!) already way over 5 years old. I really hate to think about this time & phase, since back then I only did colouring work on top of scanned linedrawings and had no clue what speed painting meant and how rewarding it can be... Each piece took forever to finish, hence I have a big pile of these unfinished ones stashed on my hd.

They are of some use though, everytime I hit a creative wall (happens very, very rarely anymore) I just spend an evening colouring one these old ones.

It seems that this particular one never made it past the basic masking phase. I'm sure there was supposed to be a burning farmyard or something on the bg. Rolling Eyes

*dramatic sigh*

Since there's plenty of space on this thread, let's dig the closet for more skeletons!

This small spacecargohauler thingy is from the same period as the previous flying pig, done well before my "digital period". I did start to colour this sometime in 2005 I think and been continuing the task ever since... if this particular image never gets finished, I think I'd at least build a sketchup model of this ship.

Random detail: those blue gray parts in the ship were supposed to be detachable boosters or some such. Rolling Eyes

Here's something more recent. The sketch itself is almost 10 years old, I found it yesterday while going through a pile of old sketches. I decided to try colouring a pencil sketch again for a change and I think I'm quite happy how this turned out. Loose enough, with plenty of detail and not too much time spent. Smile

Random detail: The original sketch from way back when had the character holding a big bazooka thingy. The current me did not dig the choice of the 10 years younger me and and the bazooka got changed into a mechanical arm. Better this way methinks. Smile
