More of the same, a speedie from last night.
I've been working insane hours on a semi-personal project lately, painting 3 to 6 pieces after work everyday. The deadline is looming but I am still confident enough to be able to pull it off.
My point is, that doing this intense/ambitious creative project really makes me see all the benefits speedpainting, sketching and hanging around here in Sijun has given me. It also puts a very damn honest mirror on front of me that points out all the things I still need to get better at.
Sijun & speedpainting FTW.
Kthxbye.

zupzup, thanks it is always interesting to study your works. Especially when you do have background from traditional work (right?). Thats reason I try use artrage much I can to learn basics. Do you make living of your oil paintings? your concepts are great as always, I dont want repeat it.
lakka, nice
nide, wonderful drake
samhell, you improved as I see
darkos, beautiful
cpt obvious, your horse pic in the homepage blows me, im floored .. how much do you use photo texture? It is interesting to see problems as you talk about using between brushes and textures. Sometimes I had paint a new layer and distort. I would love if you express your thoughts more in your blog or whatever. great techniques you got, your sense of light.. what to say. just wow
all other, fantastic.. keep up
a quickie

thanks Tomasis for the compliment a ways back, the artrage velazques is cool
Cpt.Obvious-wow! love how much mood is expressed through those, sometimes a simple gradient says it best.
Being experimental-trying to let the weirdness show through and not cover everything up, but use layers of abstract little bits and strokes to make up the image. I feel I can think about the picture more with less licking this way. Kindof like pointalism but instead of just little dots have an infinite variety of shapes and also use glazes and flats in some areas....i think its interesting looking at stuff form on the backs of my eyelids, its like a multichrome grain and the most bizarre/exciting stuff just forms out of it, very cool how the brain takes chaos and forms it.

Tomasis - Thanks.....glad you enjoy my work. Yes I come from a traditional background as well. I find that both the traditional and the digital compliment each other if embraced openly.
Artrage is cool, but I highly picking up a real brush at some point. Your Native American with the headdress would look really great if you worked up an oil painting off of your quick sketch!
No, unfortunately I don't make a living at selling my oils, more supplemental income at this point. _________________ WEBSITE
