Skil is a very talented Graffiti-artist from Sweden and we wanted to do some work together. He sent me a sketch with letters and later that day i did the 2 characters and colored the whole thing.

I'm still not totally confident doing letters (i still practice) on my own so it was cool to have someone better to do them.

Here's the second one. The letters were meant for the first Image, but Skil wanted something else so i made this.

Awesome, as always. Smile I like the (overall) cleaner lines in the first one and the character in the second (Bruce Lee(?)). Smile

In the first one I'm seeing a number "1" in the character on the left (the negative space between her forearm and neck). Possibly just my longstanding interest in 'embedded objects' - and possibly appropriate in a first rate drawing, hehe.

By "not totally confident doing letters" I guess you mean 'graffiti style' letters (something I've never considered/tackled so I wouldn't know). But yeah, overall still loving the clean, crisp rendering... Smile

LOL! Well, putting a "1" in there was certainly not intended Rolling Eyes
Having hard and stroked edges makes the negative and positive spaces make up things i guess.
Yes, i meant graffiti letters. I've been struggling with them since 1984 and
When the frustration peaked i stopped and just focused on characters. Lately i've been sketching letters again, but it is hard. I like it though. Thanks!

Tomasis. It certainly does Smile

Balistic. I'm fond of that myself. Skil is hopefully gonna try and get it up on a wall soon. That would be so cool.

No accusation intended Smile

Got me looking for a graffiti 'font'
(if the idea of standardizing isn't ridiculous):
[infected site/url removed; sorry]

Used to do calligraphy so this is interesting -
harder than 'copperplate'? - a challenge! Very Happy

Yay! Mr. Wiggles Of Rocksteady crew! The breakdancers.. Yeah, i've seen fonts like that before. I've never used them as they take away the fun of doing them. But i guess they are good for people that are starting out Smile They look good though!

Thanks for snipping the quoted URL. The virus was in a "Photos"/popup,
which I guess is why the site wasn't blacklisted (I have no idea how these things work...).
Sorry for messing up the thread. Looking forward to seeing the new piece. Smile

Hmmmm, the only collaboration I've worked on was with a guy in Stavanger.
Must be a North American 'lone wolf' thing? Very Happy

Here is a new one. We wanted an 80's look to it so the letters, colors and characters were done according to that. If you've seen Style wars or the wildstyle movie you know what i'm talking about Wink As usual the whole thing is done with pens, but colored in Photoshop.
