This is a speedie study for a large acrylic painting I want to do. Would be nice to hear what you think about the hand anatomy etc.
Smoking hand:
Howie: Nice one with the fishies!
Minjar: Excellent work with the study! |

Lemur, I can always count on you to post some pirates!
Tried to use some imagination for once.. oh how different this painting business was when I couldn't of cared less what the outcome was like...
*Solar
The anatomy looks ok to me, but everything seems to be a bit too rounded to my eyes. I think you could try and brigh out the joints a bit more. Proportions look good.
Just so you know, I couldn't draw a fingernail, so my lack of anatomical knowledge isn't to be taken lightly |

Paoo - love the space-station. Epic proportion and scale.

woah ditlev!
started painting and came up with some sort of rocket wagon, gotta keep thinking on this stuff, sometimes you gotta think of form, sometimes purely abstract stuff-I get confused I guess just gotta use my imagination more, when I don't I have a tendency of not going bold enough

hehe, forgot it was all about whywhathow-thanks Richard Schmid I can think again! been painting in my head too, and you really have to concentrate when you paint in your head-you have to simultaneously hold an image in your head, analyze it, and paint it in a new image in a way mimicking what you feel irl, great fun! Also fun cause it goes poof at the end, you have to enjoy the doing of it cause you aren't going to get any complements over the sucker...
I think thats the big difference between painting and music, when you play music on an instrument it vanishes into thin air the moment you play it. Us painters have piles of crappy paintings pile up.
