I do not understand what is up with Gandalf the White's hair. It is really aggrivating me. His hair is straight like Saruman's was, but his beard is still ragged and it looks totally false and just kind of kills off the character's veritability. Now I'm just blabbering about stupid stuff XD.

ya on top of that it turns out ian mckellan (the guy who plays gandalf)is gay....
i respect him being gay but he doesn't have to dress up like a woman and flaunt it all over the place (anyone see SNL?)! it ruins the way i see gandalf in the movie.

Ha - I wish, guys! Nothing to be envious about - no elven chicks, even though my colleagues went out for lunch and met Elijah, Sam (whoever's playing him) AND Liv Tyler at the little Cafe next to work ... they brought photos to prove it ... damn ... Liv Tyler.
Otherwise it's just a lot of work - haven't even seen Peter Jackson yet ...
But I'm dealing with Alan Lee quite often - if anyone knows who he is ...

nobody has ever said that life should revolve around tolkien books. why are you flaming the book so much??? because it dares you to have an imagination? because you don't like fantasy??? just because YOU don't like the book doesn't make it and over done piece of dogshit...and why the hell are you looking for a fight here.

tolkien dosn't "mean nothing" pal. he has inspired very many aspects of life....him and other fantasy authors dared us to use and practice our imagination. fantasy in general has evolved very much because of lotr, and fantasy has inspired many artists... look around the art board. almost all of it is fantasy.
tolkien has also brought joy to those who read his books...wether they be little kids or older folks. all he wanted to do was make people happy and make a book that one could read to their kids at night. he ended up making an excellent book(s) that inspired me and many other people in a number of ways.
where would art be without fantasy...

ps. you might want to work on your spelling. wot should be spelled what
and i don't understand the last sentence...are you saying that you believe in osama bin laden but i am just as bad???

sorry loki....i admire your artwork by the way...im wondering did you actually come up with some of the backgrounds and landscapes for the movie? if so i must say that you and whoever you were working with did an excellent job with the concepts. the landscapes and nature used in the movie were inspiring and it was really great...i hope they are paying you good. i wish there was some way i could get a hold of all the concept art from the movie....perhaps in 2003 they could release a book with concept art hmmmm?????

There's not too much matte work to be done on this movie and they're fully staffed - would've been nice to switch - but there's always movie # 3 ...
