For sometime now I've been working on processes for starting a painting digitally and ending up with oil paint. I've pretty much worked out the process that I see using for the foreseeable future. The demo is on my website from the Process option on my site menu. Check it out and let me know what you think...
Below is the full composition from which the demo detail was taken. The composition is still developing, with quite a bit of work left to do. The little red box encloses the demo piece. The full piece will be about 6 feet x 4 feet.

Here's the latest incarnation of the developing composition. I'm on a driving trip from Phily to Colorado now (museum hoping), so the project is frozen for the next 3 or 4 weeks... Then back with a vengence... I want to get the painting started...

You have to post the details on this one, I saw your post on the other forum with the some details which was great.
I like all the attention you've payed to it, funny to look at, and symbolic to say the least. Would you like to reveal what the painting is about? |

I'll be able to write more about its meaning later... but basically it illustrates the Garden of Eden, the loss of innocence, procreation and the end of the world overseen by marionette-like spirits... a simple topic _________________ HonePie.com

Working out the color scheme digitally before starting the painting - 44" x 72" ... Will not get to the painting till February as I have to return to Philadelphia for a couple months. When I get back to here (Colorado) than I start...

Always interesting and funny to watch eyewoo
one option for the pile of women, is that each women carrying the next could be born from the 'carried' women's womb. Like in the bottom women it's most likely, her head could be coming out (born) of the 'stomach' of the woman she is carrying. in this particular part the carried woman is also looking down, witch makes it extra good in respect to this interpretation.(not saying it's the correct interpretation...) so for me, this is the interesting part. generations of flesh, the male pile does not offer this interpretation(or does it?) - the odd figures on the right would be 'facts of life' - odd and peculiar. anyhow, I'm not likely to stick around eyewoo - looks good. watch out for the top figures. in their simplicity, they offer a much more strong symbolic and might ruin some of the painting. |

I like the contrast between the 2D guys at the top and the 3D rendered people. I like the overall color scheme.
I could see you doing a painting in the future with just the 2D figures. |

Could be possible, but for sure they'll continue to show up in various ways in future paintings... _________________ HonePie.com
