selphoo, thanks
hideyoshi, thanks
Btw, would anyone here in Sijun be interested in starting a sketchbook? Perhaps a sketchbook would be more of a few member posting but I guess anyone would be welcome to join?
A sketchbook would be more like a daily kind of thing...
I have thought about it maybe in cgtalk, feels weird to be only self when you do it though.
Let me know what you think.
Double damn, perhaps closer to what I was thinking with the one above.
It's still bad though lol.

Thanks selphoo!
Godzilla, do you mean something like http://gorillaartfare.com/, where many people update a blog with some sketches? Or like a sketching group that update a forum thread? If other people wanna do it too, I'll definitely join if I can. I'm always looking for more inspiration to paint, gotta get away from those video games.
Here's a life painting I did today.

thanks guys really appreciate the feedback.
XbrianX, yea a thread or something but perhaps it would be too similar to this speedpainting we are doing here? ..hmm, u a member over at cgtalk?
////
Someone asked me about how I work, and btw if you read this I will answer you after I have posted this.
My workflow is sometimes quick but sometimes it takes forever, usually it takes longer when I complicate things or if I am looking for something and can't achieve it.
Sometimes I keep changing my mind aswell with the painting changing motif 100 times, not sure if anyone of you does the same?
Not sure I can explain myself what I have been looking for with speedpainting, but I tell you this. A good foundation beneath a painting with many layers will pay off, no matter what the result is.. whether it is abstract or whatever. That would be balance in color and contrast.
Hmm I should shut up.

thanks selphoo.
nice godzilla was matthew!! I try to keep the layers to a minimum when i paint, i don't know why...
after sorolla, this for example was done on just one layer

Rinthe, I didn't mean digital layers, I come from traditional so mostly I tend to think and paint the same way as I used to do traditionally. Like the cloud in your pic which could be said as two layers paint because I can see a little through it. And also, the color and contrast differs a little when varnish even so digitally. The pic I made above is also digitally only one layer but with varnish thinking you have several layers, u understand what I mean?
As I said I should shut up.
thanks guys btw. |
