Here are couple of environment concepts I did over the last few weeks and one matte painting.
I did some concepts inspired by a photo of Mount McKinley (link) and decided to take one of these speedies and develop it into a finished matte painting. The foreground could use some work, though, but I just had to leave it be. You can find the initial speedpainting below and two other conceptual paintings I did on the same theme.
Finally, I put 4 environmental concepts I did simultaneously as practice for controlling light and atmosphere in rocky environments.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy.

You have a compositional issue with centering your valleys between two high outcroppings in a lot of your images. They start to look "cookie cutter," but you have a wonderful brushstroke style and I really like some of your lighting effects!

I really like no1 (and the small sketch under it) and no4.

Of personal taste perhaps, but I think in the matte painting the left mountain tops are a bit too alike, maybe break it up into more irregular and interesting shapes much like the right one?

No4 I enjoy a lot, I just feel that the 'temple' should have a perspective where you look up at it, not above it.

cool!
