it eventually works... |
I like how the last stick just happens to create a nice ramp for the ball.
My early attempts looked a lot like that one. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

Haha!
I was thinking that those little nose lurches were odd.
The end was surprising!
Oh and I like the ears, nice touch. |

Hahahaha !!! Suma thats awesome.
At first i thought to myself "What am i looking at, that thing isnt going anywhere"
i was about to close the window when it bucked and sent a few balls flying ...
thats when i decided to keep watching, and saw the craziest suicide spring...
i noticed the mole cocked it's ears forward moments before the surprising end ...
You really should record these and stick it in youtube.
.
Anyway these are not mine,
But from the many catapult designs for AWASH i like this one .

and from the many digging machines that guide the orange balls over the top,
this guys decides to forcefully fling the boulders away.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=249717
and this guy, takes the alternate route, and climbs over all the orange balls,
simple and effective.

burnout: I know what you mean. You can play through all 20 levels and not even use most of the really interesting machine techniques, like slings, catapults, tracks, etc. Good replay value.
andromeda: Here are the only other free levels:
New01 - http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=160813
New02 - http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=47735
New03 - http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=182093
New04 - http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=63080
New05 - http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=55665
New06 - http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=49221
New07 - http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=49073
They were from beta-testing, and happened to be left in there. New04 is the level I posted on the previous page.
If you want a challenge, beat New01 using no powered wheels (ie. a "green" or "gravity games" solution). That'll keep you busy.
I registered it yesterday. I figured I'd already got $10 of value out of it, and wanted to try some of the multi-player challenges like Sumo Arena. BTW, I don't think you need a PP account -- the PP site should let you pay directly with a VISA card or a card like that.
Re the bug: I've seen lots of contraptions go crazy, but I don't know what triggers it. Be fun if it was controllable. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

There was a mini-competition to design a 21st level. They should have gone with something much more difficult IMO.
I did an "infinite loop" for it:
http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=818714
And one going the other way, which wasn't as easy:
http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=816836
I've seen much better loopers though.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still really into the game. Particularly the nearly-impossible levels; the ones that really get the brain materials flapping.
Keep an eye out for a guy named Entity on the forum. You'll need the registered version to view most of his stuff, but he's like a Fantastic-Contraptions savant. Imagine someone who is unbelievably good at the game, and then multiply by himself. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |
