So i wanted to do something just plain cool and i figured the coolest thing i could do would be cavemen killing a T rex. This is one of the first finished things I've done that i didn't scan in any pencil drawings for, its completely painted in photoshop. what do you guys think?

I really like the T-Rex and the scenery. The lighting is cool, esp. on the rock wall on the right. What I don't like is the guy in air. His pose looks awkward. The way his legs are crossed, it just doesn't look as if he is jumping down, but like someone removed the invisible floating carpet where he had sat cross-legged before. The front arm is okay, but the other arm (or rather, hand) is just not as dynamic as needed. His knife looks like the end of a donkey's tail or something, not pointing in the right direction at all. I think the guy just needs to be more bent over, legs totally different from what you have right now, and the torso should be twisted more. Imagine the amount of power necessary to even scar the T-Rex with that stone knife. At the moment, he would just land on top of the T-Rex's head and probably break both legs. If you put some more work into it and redo the guy, it will be a very dynamic and cool image. _________________ CA SB|Flickr |

Love it!
The lighting and painterly feel are great. I love the pose of the T-rex, it looks so aggressive. I disagree with Jabo, i like the pose of the man jumping down, i get the feeling he is turning in the air, to match himself to the back of the T-rex and for me anyway gives the piece more dynamism. However, like Jabo said, the knife could do with some surgery! |

Cave man flies through the air kung fu style ... most awesome..
loving it...
maybe add in some tiny rubble and dust particles from the caveman's jump all frozen in mid air perhaps ?
but thats just a matter of personal taste, and its also a huge cliche .
well done ! |

i like it. t-rex and all looks great, and the pose of the man is good too. However, there are tangency issues- and i think thats what Jabo may have been pointing to. The t-rex's tail pretty much lines up exactly to the man's right bent leg. I do like the pose but regardless, it could be tampered with a little. |

hey thanks for the comments guys, so i just added some little things, changed the caveman's weapon and messed with the sky a little
Jabo, thanks man yea I can see where your coming from with the pose, it came out kinda strange but i gotta say since i painted him (and he was basically the first part of the image i finished) he's been my favorite part of it. I thought about making some adjustments (including that tangency issue annisahmad mentioned) but either out of affection or laziness i decided to keep him the same. but you were right the daggar did look like a donkey's tail and needed some work
zHowie, nice dude you nailed exactly what i was trying to get at with the pose (and yea again the dagger did need some work)
Andromeda, i played around with the dust particles but i couldn't get em to look right, so yea... glad you like it though!
annisahmad, thanks yea i didn't really think about that when i was composing it, but i dunno i just wanted to leave him as is (im pretty much spent on this one hahah)
joe, haha thanks dude
bob, hahah thanks man, i imagined it as reflected light from a rock behind him (rocks can give off a good amount of light when the sun hits em right?) i dont know i couldn't bear making him a straight silhouette u no?

Awesome! i really like everything and i kind of dig the flying guy pose jeje.
What bothers me is the spear the guy in the right is holding...it doesn't look that strong. I think it should be thicker. _________________ ___________________________

Very dramatic, the sunlight makes the flying guy look all angelic/heroic
It's great! |
