Took me about ~15h, and it's hereby my longest mattepaint I've ever done. I could easily have spent another 15h on getting it more realistic but I just had to make time for other projects. Anyways, hope you like it! _________________ www.andreewallin.com |

Quite hot image indeed. I mean it's nicely done, but why the water isn't boiling, as that lava touches on that river? I'd like to see good boiling effect on that point. Just a small detail, which I noticed. _________________ www.pirkkaharvala.com

This is a very impressive matte painting. I love all the crisp details and how hot and saturated the lava is compared to the rest of the piece. I'd be interested to know how much of it was 3D/photo/painted.
If i had to critique something it would be that the two symmetrical jets of ash in the background are distracting and draw my attention to the building in the center of the composition. It's just a small detail, but easy to fix. |
