Stumbled across some nice kangle on Project Offset the other day.

He has the skill (among others) of good ambient lighting, something I'd like to be able to do. I do like a bit of flat lighting on surfaces, with some colour variation and other detail.

Indeed. I just picked up "The Skilled Huntsman" with a great deal of Le's (and others) fantastic stuff inside. I highly recommend it (from designstudiopress.com).
