Thats an interesting program that you have created.
Is there some place where you have written about the basic way it works from a technical view ?
I dont expect you to give away all the secrets of course |

It is not a secret but this technology is quite complex. In two words I use pixel sheders for generation of images. Apparently the power of a computer CPU turned to be not enough for a good performance, therefore the GPGPU technology has been applied, i.e. calculations are performed by the videocard's GPU. It makes the running speed some 50-100 times faster. The result is 20-30 frames per second with a screen resolution of 2560x1600. It means, the result is not just a picture, but rather a video-show.
It is obvious that the aesthetic virtues of the pictures depend not of technologies, but first of all of artistic taste and a talent of an artist. Though usually the generative art is just a product of work of programmers which are quite far from fine art. At least color solutions are sometimes just terrible. I will not tell anything about my own achievements, please just take a look at some examples of my works at www.sanbase.com/art. All the images were generated with no extra post-creation treatment. _________________ www.sanbase.com |
