I really hope I have made some sense in all this. |
Yes, you have. And I would like to thank you, AND EVERYONE, for the time and feedback.
And I first considered going to Christian forums. But to be honest, I would not have learned as much. It's kind of like this: A little girl gets up in church and sings a song about Christ. She messes up here and there. Her voice is not really that good. But its a song everybody loves. She finishes and everyone sincerely applauds her. Why? They feel the song because they are intimate with the subject matter. She worshipped God, and it does not matter that it did not sound all that good. Now, if she started singing like that at a tailgate party.... same with my art.
I came here expecting some tips on how to make the art better. But I learned.the proper way that I should present the work a more honest way. I think that is more important than fixing an improper shadow that most will not even notice. I likely will continue to visit forums here and there. You would probably be very surprised if I told you how many people visit my web page not just from here. Some click off immediately 0 seconds. I suspect that these are artists that have a dislike for the style and quality, or lack thereof. But many remain for minutes on end. They read it. A few compliment it. So, I probably will continue to do this as long as I continue to get the counter hits. Like I said, this is better than watching TV. You meet people (in a way). You learn. Sometimes you make friends (or at least lasting e mail pals uuuhhhh.but nobody from here it would seem). I could say more, but the more I say, the greater the chances for me to create another STORM!
P.S. You have whittled me down to grid paper and tracing. And that is the honest truth that about the grid paper. I think that I draw beyond the establishing of the contours using those methods, but will be careful how I say that - because of the whole "looking and smelling like a duck thing".
And one more thing that I learned....art has a soul. Exoudeous said, "the method you are using is no different then tracing. you are not creating you are copying and makes the images lose any soul they could possibly have. " I'll be thinking about this concept for a long time.
Thanks for going to Church with me. _________________ I HEAR THUNDER IN THE DESERT.

Wow, I thought I was done here - LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER STORM IS A BREWING!!! And I will try to answer, without quoting Bible verses (though that will be difficult). You realize this thread will likely be locked if we go down this road. We should proceed with caution.
Moderators, if you do not want me to go here, just say so and I will stop with just this one answer. What crime did I commit that turned me into a Christian, you ask? I guess the easiest way to answer that is to say that I broke the 10 commandments - even the one that says I should not murder. So, I became a Christian so that the blood of Christ might cover those crimes. _________________ I HEAR THUNDER IN THE DESERT.

That is quite possibly the most offensive thing I could possibly imagine saying to a religious person. I truly think that is absolutely none of your business, blahblah.
How would you like someone unfoundedly insinuating that some horrific event in your life contibuted to you being a jaded athiest? |

Whoa man, be careful there. This IS getting out of hand.
I realize you were provoked but Blehblehbleh is notorious for starting stupid flame wars. look up all his posts. You'll see his M.O.

Actually, it is no where near being offensive to me. Really. But thanks.
I cannot say more here, because trainwreck said so. And I have to do what trainwreck says - its like a life debt, or something.
